Something that came up during the conversations at the NWNetwork boards was what extent NWC should cater to the PW crowd. Rizzen said he had no problem with PW's using the system to advertise their campaigns, and I agree. The downside is we end up with the same PW running a "game" every hours on the hour every day taking up space. I think a solution would be to see if there is a way to toggle which types of games people would like to see on the "Most Recently Scheduled games" and "Upcoming games." Allow for PW's to do whatever they want, but allow members to opt out of seeing those listings. I would also enforce any PW's listing to use the PW tag. Any abuse will be banned.

| I think you can as the link was in several places on the page anyway. Try to press the links in the "folder" structure between the navigation bar and the forum text. When posting this the folders read: "nwresources.com" (Neverwinterconnection.com when viewing) "Main Topics" "General Discussion" Pressing the top link of the ones listed should take you back to the forum main page. |

It would be lovely if the game history retained numeric as well as alpha characters, plus punctuation, cos when you read an old game description without them it's hard to tell what's what sometimes.

Deusin and I have to do some work on the game history... We have bad queries on there etc. However, I also am having a hard time deciding on how much work to do on it. We are just about ready to start full time coding on the new site so I've got one or two more days (hours really) to work on the old site (other than major bugs). Then at that point I need to devote my time fully to the new site. However, I will see if there is anythign quick and easy I can do here.

Realizing that you don't have much more time to work on the current site before devoting all of your time to the new site, I would LOVE to see a "view last post" button in the forums. I know you said that you weren't gonna rewrite the forum code, so I'm hoping that this can be addressed before you change focus from current to future. Thanks agagin.

Sorry... it's pretty common on a phpBB forum, so I thought you would know what I was talking about. A "jump to last post" icon for each thread that appears when the thread has had new posts made to it since the last time you logged in. It keeps the user from having to scroll down to the bottom of the page to view the newest post. Thanks.

sure... check out my forums (just no laughing or pointing fingers)... http://www.freeportrepublic.net/forums/index.php In the "Last Post" column, it shows the time and date of the last post, with the name of the poster below it. Next to the name, there is an arrow and an icon of a piece of paper... or some such. If you click on that little icon, then it takes you to the last post in that thread. No worries, Rizzen. It's better to get it right the first time. DB. (edit) Oh... one other thing... the same icon will also appear before the name of the thread.

I’d still like to see an icon (Calandar. “Play Now”, “Today’s Events”…whatever) or separate link that kind of sticks out, that will navigate to the scheduled events calendar. I think when folks are just joining the community they may tend to seek out a game first before checking the forums or reading the help and how to use this site links. Plus a time or two, I’ve just had an itch to join an application game or come-one come-all game. Was the idea for having a mentor upon joining scraped? I know when I joined I had one and I felt it helped me get my feet wet. Whether or not a good percentage of people used it is beyond my knowledge as I was never a mentor for anyone, nor did I hear much discussion on the matter, but that may have been before my time. Just wondering. I've talked to a number of people at various boards and conventions or on PW's I DM at that have never tried NWN, or they are just now getting it because it's free to play on-line and can be found in the bargain basket at Wal-Mart. Most of them tell me they liked the single player side ok, but the multi player side had/have them baffled. They understand the teamwork concept needed to group and battle but the concept of RPing social interactions and camaraderie is leaving them in the dark, as are the basic ideas and principles behind the game. The ideas of a character build vs. a munchkin build. Good vs. evil, role-playing vs. roleplaying...and so on. Having a written guide is nice for those that like to read or that are inclined to even try, but having someone actually show them how to play a more social game is what I'd like to see more of, all without any pressure on there players. I see it almost everyday, A new member comes on the server or joins a session...the group tries to interact with him/her but the new person doesn't respond to every bit of dialog or never initiates any dialog or is pretty much quiet, so the rest of the group starts to ignore that person. Now the session is just H&S for them and they get bored and never return. My mission as a DM is to make sure they have a voice as well as a good time in every game session and want to come back. Some folks might feel too embarrassed or even conceded to ask for help, I know those are strong words, I just can’t think of any alternatives at the moment. I feel offering a mentor to someone should be offered, it might not be needed but once in every thousand person, but to me that person still counts and he/she just might be the next LadyRolePlay. Also since the forums get the most traffic, wouldn’t it be better to have the link to it stick out more? Plus, and this might have been said already, but how about a button on the last poster to go to the last post in every topic…Thanks for all your doing guys…LION |

Something else I have thought of... For news items, a lot of sites have a "Discuss" link at the bottom of the news item. This allows the membership to make comments directly to the news posts (duh). Anway... just making posts as I think of things. Gracias. DB.

Our new news system is going to use the forums. Basically, it will be the forums.

It would be nice to have the ability to change thread names, and not just post names. For example, I have a thread called "Shades of Moonshae - Wednesday nights" because I used to host the game on Wednesday nights. This was fine and good until I moved the game to another night. It's not really a big deal, but I would like the ability to rename the thread to better reflect what it is. Thanks.
