Looking for D&D Like Game/Server

I dunno about any of you, but I get tired of playing in games that allow immunities to everything and massive ammounts of bonuses.

I was just wondering if anyone is hosting a game or server that fits to more D&D like playing?

I don't know, maybe I'm just fanning the flames on this topic, but I don't think that "high magic" (which seems to be what you are getting at) games are any less "D&D" than others. You seem to want a low-magic game and that's fine, but I will point out that the Dungeon Master's Guide has a suggested system for player wealth at given levels that is the basis for the CR system. Players are expected to have "tons of bonuses" at mid- to high levels. For example, a 14th level character is expected to have about 150,000gp worth of equipment. If you go to 20th level, it's 760,000gp!

I do think that NWN undervalues some of the immunity-property items, so I tend not to include as many of those in my game. Some of the items like the archer/swordsman belts are extremely undervalued for the benefit they provide, again IMO.

I have seen a number of low-magic games advertised around here, so I'm sure you'll be able to find one that suits your desired style of play.

Good luck in finding one.

Old School games are harder and harder to find these days, as not too many DMs are coding for them...too much work.

Thats what I was affriad of, Ive tried playing online but it usually ends up being the same game over and over again, even with DMs, PWs and many other things the game claims to have to make it unique.

The last sever I played on completely boned mages in general and for someone who likes clerics/sorcs it was no fun at all. Lol they felt that mages where just player controlled buffing machines, and I know clerics are in a way but a sorc isnt - they even had the balls to edit TimeStop so when you cast it your where silenced!

I guess Ill continue looking, Ill check into the link above and see how that game is. I do prefer low magic games, and games that allow your saves to actually factor in, haha they arent just random numbers spamming across your screen for nothing .

If all else fails, you could start your own server, and find some folks on the Player Connection forum with similar interests. I'm sure there are modules on the Vault that fit your criteria.

Yeah Ive been looking for a mod to host, usually try mods durring LANs(almost every weekend). I think I could make my own but I dont have the time to do everything myself and I havent had enough motivation to ask other people to join in on a group effort.

really if you are talking about PWs then you have played on wrong servers / action room?

if you are looking for dnd try something like "Dungeons and Dragons 3.5" , i dont remember the exact name of the game server but its located in Roleplay room, this is the closest you can get to dnd on a PW IMO, then we have City of Arabel (http://www.nwncityofarabel.com) in PW Story, also a low-magic good stuff PW.
Haze / Daggerford was a nice low magic server, but now its half-dead.

if you are looking for DM +party play then try to host your own or try to find some campaign here to join, lazybones made few good modules i believe, also there is a thread on DM forum "good games to host" host it, find a DM and you are allset! -~

I can't understand how some games do that or servers.
I personally am glad to get a good female fighter.
Most online games seem to prefer those characters
