Based on what I have heard about module size it sounds like your basic dsl is not going to be enough. Any thoughts on this? Also thought I would share what I know, Roadrunner cable gets about 450K upload average and earthlink now has DSL with 768K upload available, not sure how fast their cable service is.

Last week I hosted 4 other players, plus myself (using both the player client and the dedicated server) just fine on a 1.5M down, 384K up DSL connection.

Thanks for the info Lazybones. Mind if I ask what kind of machine you were hosting on? With NWN I hosted on a machine with 1 gig of RAM and a 3.0 Pentium IV processor, while running the DM client on another machine. I'm wondering if that machine will be enough, or, if not, if my client machine will be enough (same specs but with 1.5 gigs of memory) if I retire it to server duty.

| P4 3.2ghz, Nividia 6800/256 GFX card, 2gb system ram. I think the card is the bottleneck at this point; I run it with just about everything set to minimum, at 1024x768.

Thank you for the info. Since I'll be running the machine as just the server (is NWN2 standalone server even out?), the crappy videocard I have on that machine won't be a problem. I'll have to test it to see if the memory is enough.

I don't think it has been distrubited by its self, but you can always install your copy on two machines and run the stand alone server. the only thing the copy protect does is keep people from playing online at the same time with the same Key. I have mine installed on multiple machines... works just fine.
