What exactly needs to be posted? The files as they appear in our "portraits" folder or simply a zip with the portraits included (may be a different name). I'm assuming that the portraits must have the same file names in all the systems to be "recognized" by the various gamer's coputers. My portraits are custom named (so they don't overide any existing portraits); but they may not work in that fashion for others who do not wish to modify their NWN files. Or for others who name files as I have (counting down from 2000) may find that my portrait overides one of their custom portraits (which will then require a new name). I guess what I'm asking for is some step by step instruction for: 1. uploading my custom portrait; and 2. downloading others and intalling them in my game so that I can see their lovely mug. This will make following the conversations much easier for me as I will not have to search for the speaker's name for those who share the default portrait. Dave O.

Everything you need to know about creating and importing your custom portrait is right here: http://nwn.bioware.com/builders/portraits.html The easiest way to share your custom portrait with the group is to upload it to the Neverwinter Vault. They host NWN files for free, although you will need to sign up as a member to submit files. http://nwvault.ign.com Then all you need to do is post a link to the file so we can download it to our portrait folders. By the way... if you don't have a custom portrait but you want one the vault is a good place to find one.

HOLY COW! You've gotten as many votes on your portrait in a day as I've gotten on 3 prefabs and a custom hakpak in 2 months! No need to rename the file. The file should have a unique name. As long as all players use the same unique filename for the portrait in the portrait folder it will work. Don't try to over-write the standard portraits. The filenames for the file in your portaits folder should be: plas_blubs_m_h.tga plas_blubs_m_l.tga plas_blubs_m_m.tga plas_blubs_m_s.tga plas_blubs_m_t.tga

Perhaps, I've confused you. I didn't create this portrait, it already existed in the vault; I simply used it as I thought that it was pretty neat. In my NWN, I rename all my "custom" portraits to follow the "pattern" used by bioware (that way they sort correctly with the default images by gender and race). This means that in my computer, "Blubs" has a different file name. As this is not my work, I don't want to upload the same portrait with the new file names that I'm using. So, to prevent everyone else from having to rename their files, I think it will be easier for me to change the image files of my character to the default "Blubs" names. Dave O.

No, but it seems like a useful tool to keep in one's back pocket. I've changed Alex's character to use the default name (and got rid of all those "extra's" that were floating around in my system confusing me). I noted that the small portrait is misnamed in the zip file as "plas_blubs_m_s.tg.tga", so I renamed it as "plas_blubs_m_s.tga" -- deleating the extra ".tg". I'm hoping any who download and install Alex's portrait will do the same. Dave O.
