Question

After I installed my NWN2 game I went in and took a look at the multiplayer area and saw many games there.

How is that game list different than the one I can find here?

Is it the same?

No... the areas are not the same.

What you saw was all the games that are be "broadcast" by Gamespy. When I say broadcast, I mean that anyone can host a multiplayer game, and then have the Gamespy service list it so that others can join.

What we have here is a list of scheduled games that members are going to play/host/dm. Look at the left hand column on the home page and you will see a link called "Schedule a game". Click that link and you will be able to set up a game to be played at a later time/date. This is to allow people to organize games in advance instead of just trying to throw one together at the last minute.

Does that make sense?
