The light from the rising sun filtered into the small room through the narrow window slit, resting on closed eyes. A large nose twitched over a thick beard before heavy eyelids ponderously opened, blinking away sleep. A heavily caloused hand whiped the eyes before the man slowly rose to a sitting position. He swung his feet over the side and stretched, breathing deeply and smiling at the sun. He rose and dressed quickly and efficiently, donning the white robes of his order before straightening his bedding and opening the heavy door to his quarters. He nodded to the acolyte standing outside his door and accepted the long scarf of office. "Today is a good day, brother. Let us commence the ritual of the sun." The other man bobbed his shaved head and they proceeded down the brightly lit corridor. "Today is a good day, indeed."

Adrian rags some curtain he found, to clean his wounds. He frees his arm, where most of the burn was done, and after cleaning a bit he covers it again, with some pain. Then he turns to see Nantle, a tough guy for what it seems at first sight. Well, for now Adrian just wants to let him know that he is alright, a bit bitten and with some pain, but ready for action and they can trust him. That buzzing is no longer with him now; perhaps it was the grenade noise, being to close to the explosion. He should be careful in the future. Adrian approaches to the Sergeant and stands still to his side, ready to move on orders from any of his superiors. Of course, he gives a glance to the woman they have there, no good news. It is hard to travel with a civilian, especially one whom is not trained or at least has the minimum idea on how to survive in enemy field. But they said it was part of the mission, so looks like things are changing a bit, it is more than just finding some crazy terrorist; they also need to take out that woman.

Oki stays concealed and hidden and ready to move in to retrieve her equipment; but, only when it is safe and only when given the signal. She's travelled with U.S. troops before and she knew the drill. They were in charge of the mission. She could make requests; but, she had to follow orders if she wanted to stay alive and if she wanted to remain welcome. Perhaps as a rescuee she might be a valued asset to them; but, she intended to get a story out of this, and to do that, meant not burning her credibility or her welcome with them. As long as she was not a hinderance to them, she might get a story out of this. Concentrate, keep a lookout, be a help to them; but, keep low. Keep out of the way. The one soldier looked wounded, if she had the opportunity, maybe she could dress his wound if they had bandages. She took a First-Aid course back home and a refresher here when she was first assigned as a war correspondent. Quietly she offered, "Lieutenant, one of your men looked injured. I have some Basic First-Aid training if someone has some bandages and there is time."

The Lieutenant stands there, mouth open in... horror? Staring at the broken radio. He thumbs the channel key, praying for a voice, any voice. Oh god. Oh god. Oh god... we're on our own. I'm on my own. What do we do? What do we... wait, what? "Wh... what? Of course... injuries, very... very bad..." He blinks at Miss. Takanawa, once or twice, as if waking up - and his eyes harden as he does so, a new thought ousting out the doubt. "If a general is not courageous he will be unable to conquer the unknown or create great plans." I'm NOT afraid. "... and hurry up about it! SERGEANT! The building! Double-time! No time to lose any more!" Joe rams the SINGCARS handset back over his shoulder with determined, angry force. "As soon as you're done, we're going after him."

[OOC]: I just wanted to thank everybody for their welcome last session. Also, I fully understand why your characters acted the way they did around Torrin. While it really wasn't how I would have prefered to spend the session, I fully understand why and as Lazybones said, it was perfectly in character. I have a thick skin, so don't worry about offending me as long as you're true to your characters. [IC]: Torrin led the strange warriors to the sitting room and patiently waited while they settled in, forming a semi-circle around him. He pulled over a chair and sat down, composing himself before speaking: "I'm sure you have many questions and I will try to answer them as well as I can. Before we begin, though, let me give you a little background about this strange world you find yourselves in. We are currently in the grand city of Camar, capital of the Grand Duchery. We have a number of provinces in the Duchery. If you wish to know of them, speak to Archmage Maldrigar or His Holiness Aladon Jariff because I have not been far from the city and know only what is contained in books about them. I am a cleric of The Shinning Father, Soleus. You have witness just a small aspect of his power in your healing. His Holiness has requested that I assist you in fullfiling his Lordship's orders. My capabilities as a war cleric and healer are at your disposal so long as you conduct yourselves with honor and respect for the law. Now, if you have any questions, feel free to ask." With that, Torrin placed his hands in his lap and looked at the others expectantly.

IC: Oki introduced herself, her camera tucked away, "Oki Tawanaka, FOX News War Correspondent and Journalist. It's a pleasure to meet you, Torrin Jhelem, Priest of Soleus. First, I guess I'd like to know the names and titles of the important people in the court of the Grand Duke of Vikos Nikandros, Lord of Camar, for my report, which I hope one day to file when I get back home. We've met his Holiness, Aladon Jariff, High Priest of Soleus, Lady Tertullia and Chancellor Idar. Who was that fellow that looked like the Captain of the Guard standing behind the Grand Duke that sneered slightly when the Lieutenant here mentioned the thought of us being prisoners could be an act of war?" OOC: referring to Brannix Delgaron IC: Oki continued after giving Torrin a chance to reply, "Were there others of importance to note? Also, this plague, how many people in your lands has it effected? How many are sick currently? How many have passed away? What are the symptoms? How infectious is it? How quickly does it take a person's life? Has anyone ever survived the plague? Does it spread by air, by water, by food, by clothing, by touch, by blood, by saliva, by insects, by rats or anything else you can think of?"

Torrin looked at Oki with a grim face before replying, "That would be Brannix Delgaron, one of his Lordship's trusted advisors. I am not a member of the court and politics bear no interest to me, so I will not comment on him further." He smiled slightly under the barage of questions by Oki pertaining to the plague and paitently answered them as he could. [OOC:] The plague resembles the Black Death of the Middle Ages. Its roots were traced back to vermin that infest the cities, but no trace had been found of its original cause. Some have blamed it on vengence by The Shining Father for a lack of faith.

Adrian laughs at Oki words, and with a sarcastic tone adds. Do you really believe this? I still think this is a muslim trap, a frame up. In any case, if this is true, do you think there will be any one who might believe you? Most probably you will end up between shrinks, in a mental institution.

Nantle carefully pages through the burnt papers found back at the hideaway. He only knew a little Arabic and at best could translate a couple of common words. "Torrin! We need a...." Damn! What was the word he was looking for? Professor? No... maybe... "A scholar! Someone who tries to translate stupid unknown languages no one knows. You know someone that fits that description in the city?"

"Archmage... so according to your story, a magician waved a wand, rubbed a lamp, and here we are." Joe fingered the bullet-graze in his fatigues, across his left arm, probing for the wound that wasn't there any more. "Like genies to solve your every problem." The young man's scowl deepens - he'd already been wearing it since the reporter jumped in ahead of him on the questions, but now it darkened from Mildly Peeved all the way down to Seriously Concerned. "That sounds either... really, really crazy, or really really desperate." He looks at Torrin. "Who gave the go-ahead for that, huh? Are we your 'magician's' pet project? Or did the Duke get him and your head priest and say, 'one of you find some genies, the other pray to God for some angels, we'll see who gets something first'? Let me tell you, if the President ever did that, we'd know that America was well and truly FUBAR." "... that means, 'in a really bad way'." he added.
