ooc I'll adjudicate the translation of the insurgent documents in-game. Rusty can attempt a Decipher Script check with Oki's computer providing a circumstance bonus, but it will be time consuming and require a successful DC20(Int) check. If there's anything else you want to focus on, discuss it here and I'll implement it into the next session. We'll likely start the morning after your arrival in Camar.

Phil thought, well as much as he could think, that this was a strange situation he had fallen into. Translations? Other worlds? Europe? It made his head spin.Keep to your duty, he thought, NO demotions yet. Most of his commanders had been smarter than he was and he had faith they would figure it all out. All he had to do was follow orders and stay away from the women. He eyed the servants trying to recall what he had heard about women and how they did something about your life, but those nice smelling servants clouded his mind. Would they really do anything? He shook his head to refocus himself. Follow orders.

"Alright Oki, let me see that laptop of yours. I'll see if I can use it to translate these papers," said Nantle as he gave a silent sigh. This was going to take up his whole attention. And he wasn't exactly the book type. He turned to his superior. "Sir, this will probably take me quite a while. I might not be as involved in combat situations," said Nantle. OOC- Guys I have to take a business trip Sunday and won't be back until Thursday. Talked to LB about it and it seems a good excuse to say that I spent all that time trying to translate the documents.

take care, Boomer, have a safe trip. regarding the dictionaries, they do actually exist on the internet and on my computer, i'd have to hunt around for the links again. the Arabic one looked very hard (to impossible) to use if you didn't know the Arabic alphabet. i tend to be curious what people say in foreign languages; but if the task becomes too difficult, my attention wanders off like a kender. people on TMO and my various game sites post in various languages sometimes over the past years. i discovered one guy was speaking portugese that left a review on one of my movies. didn't understand it all, but it was interesting nonetheless. discovered another movie in polish but i only understood the first two words. amazing what a little persistance does in finding phrases on the internet and tracking down the language and then finding a dictionary to go along with it. I'd have to say Arabic was the one that stumped me the most, never having found a transliterated dictionary. the best i found was one from awhile back that required knowing the arabic alphabet. i couldn't even find my XP disks with the arabic fonts on it, so i couldn't type the letters into the translater even if i wanted. anyway, i should go rest, i've been sick

The longer he stayed in this place the more he became worried. Especially as his Pappy's voice echoed in his head anytime those pretty ladies approached;"Women be evil, they latch on an yous lost yer freedom. Good bye life!" His face twisted in confusion. He did not know whether to behind Oki and start thinking those thoughts his Pappy had warned him about or in front of her where he was sure she was looking at him. Beyond this he had heard the priest who wore the dress say the folks around here could sing the gold away from you. I just know this gold in this pack is gonna disappear And that priest, him and Lt. Joe talking about changing clothes just added to the pile of trouble he saw. If paw ever caught me in one of those dresses he'd call me a woman! But most of all the lack of solid military order frightened him. The more they stayed in this place the less military order they seemed to exhibit which meant Phil had no clear direction other than his own to follow. This could only be bad. Just follow orders and stick close to "Double A." He will help get me through this, Phil thought.

Oki owed her life to this squad. In fact, other than the few items they managed to retrieve from the safehouse and the clothes on her back, the lute and the gold bar were now her sole possessions. She literally had nothing else from Earth. Just memories locked away on her computer. The love of her life was executed just mere days ago while protecting the secret of her religion and heritage from the terrorists. In essence, she had next to nothing compared to her former life back home. She was truly humbled. She took to heart the lessons of her grandparents who in WWII on one side of the Atlantic were stripped of dignity and forced into internment camps, and on the other side of the Atlantic, her other set of granparents were lucky to not be executed along with many of their neighbors in the Nazi concentration camps. Oki now understood a glimpse of the humbling and terrifying experiences they must have gone through. She had such respect for these four men that rescued her that words and actions could never adequately describe how she felt. She admired them as true heroes. She could clearly see how some of them reacted around women. They respected them, yet they were awkward, and some oggled them. It did not matter. They treated her with respect and she did not feel an equal to them nor was she over Tom by any stretch of the imagination. There was no way for her to communicate to them though, so simply sticking with them since they would keep her safe and they were her story of a lifetime was her best option. Now she had something to bring her a little joy with her renewed interest in music and the arts. It had certainly been a long time since Juliard before she switched to journalism.

Torrin stood patiently by in his robe while the strangers waited for thier audience with the duke. His thoughts went to the wonderfuly light shield his Order had gifted him and the trials sure to be ahead. He gazed over the strangers, briefly looking at Phil. I wonder what's wrong with him? He seems uncomfortable around females. I hope Oki doesn't prove to be a distraction at a critical moment. He shrugged slightly to himself and looked at Oki and the lute he purchased for her from Barth. Why he did so, he wasn't exactly sure. Sure, Barth would have fleeced her and the others because they were strangers, but his heart belonged to another. Then again, the Shinning Father taught that beauty was everywhere, even in song and Oki did have a beautiful voice. Maybe she would grace them all with tales of her homeland on those cold nights sure to come. Torrin smiled slightly and looked inwards, finding his center calm.

if anyone still needs their 64x128 jpg portraits for their characters, they can grab them off of the GGS website http://home.comcast.net/~rampage97/games/NWN/Lazybones_GGS/ by right-clicking their portrait and save-picture-as, then coming back and editing their character profile and uploading the portrait from where they saved it. --------- Anyway, I think I got a costume designer to agree to help me with the movie series, and Bob may have some software too, so I may have some luck getting some medieval/fantasy era costumes for the movie series. I have some semi-decent close-up shots of Maldrigar, Chancellor Idar & Lady Tertullia that I created sim actors for. Emerald Edge does nice voice-acting for Maldrigar and the Grand Duke of Camar. esegal does nice voice-acting for His Holiness. I've had so make some consessions on the rank insignias of your uniforms because I can't find the data fields (file names) that control the rank insignias; but, I think they are so faint on the uniforms and covered with a bit of dirt that they are barely noticed. I did manage to get the 3rd infantry division patch right though, according to wikipedia, as they were the default patch. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3rd_Infantry_Division_%28United_States%29 working on weapons next, I think I have them in stock. I'll farm out the medieval/fantasy costumes to my friend movies4u at http://www.tehartists.eamped.com as well as any other special FX they can learn how to do over the next 12 months. pookashells said he'd help me with titles and credits and other simple overlays like that. I'm going to research another website DCMF that apparently does more advanced stuff like bone modelling that might be needed for bizarre shaped monsters down the road.

On the way back, Oki began strumming a sad tune on her lute: "The loveliness of Paris seems somehow sadly gay The glory that was Rome is of another day I've been terribly alone and forgotten in Manhattan I'm going home to my city by the Bay I left my heart in San Francisco High on a hill, it calls to me To be where little cable cars climb halfway to the stars The morning fog may chill the air, I don't care My love waits there in San Francisco Above the blue and windy sea When I come home to you, San Francisco Your golden sun will shine for me" A lone tear rolled down her cheer as she finished. ------------ ooc: Words - Douglass Cross / Music - George Cory / Performers such as Tony Bennett & Frank Sinatra made this song famous

"Come on! Come on you piece of crap!" muttered Nantle as he hit a key harder than he should. He hated laptops... He was getting close to finishing the translations and so far it wasn't pretty. It look liked the Duke was right about their being a planned attack on headquarters. But it wasn't easy especially with his computer skills. He typed in another word in the help search engine. Hoping for instructions to come up.

Adrian approaches to Phil, placing a hand over his shoulders. His eye scans the whole area, still uncomfortable about how things are turning out to be. Nothing like he expected, this whole thing was crazy, but at least the Platoon is all together, and they should remain like that. Then, Adrian notices Phil attitude, his eyes and the way he stands, with his muscles tense. That makes him think that the big soldier might be going into a worse feeling than him, something disturbs Phil. With a low voice Adrian talks to Phil. Don’t worry Phil; we will make it through this. It is just matter of time until we get used to it, and find a way out. I still don’t know how, but we will make it. Then, Adrian moves a way from Phil, still alert, trying to convince himself about the words he just spoke, to believe it as well.

Joe tromped back to the palace with the rest of the squad, taking one more look at Camar. Like Disneyland after a sandstorm, he'd said, trying to convey the beauty, but the wear and the age of the place. But there was an aspect he'd missed, even though he'd almost got it all the same. The fear. The watchfulness. The first thought he'd had as the bar emptied and Brannix marched in was High Noon, but this place wasn't like Dodge City. More like... well, more like Baghdad, he realised. There was the same wariness of people who'd seen a lot of bad stuff, and were always on the lookout in case more bad stuff happened right by them, or to them. He hadn't seen any Awks, he assumed... but maybe all these people - Camarians? - were all just waiting for the siren. Or... And then there'd been Mr. Inconspicuous, the duke's guy who'd just been lounging outside the bar. Like a... well, like a cop trying to be undercover in full uniform. Smalll wonder Big Bran had found them quickly, they were being watched. But was it out of fear? Was the Duke afraid he'd got himself some big-ass dogs that were actually wolves? Was this Brannix the total dick he was coming across as, or was he just the typical hard guy with a hard job? Biff Tannen or John Maclaine? And why the heck was he having this long internal monologue when the answer was right in front of them? "Hey, Torrin," the LT asked in an undertone. "Is this Brannix the total dick he's making himself look, or...?" Heh, Biff, flashed another thought, as he spoke. If only our problem was just time travel.

Torrin looked at the LT with a puzzled expression. "I'm sorry, sir, but I don't understand your meaning. Brannix is, well, Brannix. He is the Duke's champion and conducts himself as so. Whether or not it is right is not the issue, because it is his right to do so."

| Pretty good, actually. There is more land to the west of where the road bends north; the land beyond is very rough and mostly uninhabited, although there is another Camarian province on the ocean coast, named Seaguard. And the city of Camar is on the south side of the River Nalos. It's a good representation of what you've learned so far, and you will likely fill in more over the course of the campaign.
