During the delightful two-hour DM Picnic that was served up for NWNCon4, there was some interest to make this a monthly meeting for DMs to just get together and talk about problems, tips and hints for doing things more easily or better, etc. I am willing to host and organize these monthly shindigs as long as there is interest and people show up. I thought some of the topics that could be batted around are things like dealing with problem players, how DMing on a PW is different from a campaign DM, how are they the same, what makes a successful co-DM team, and the like. Every DM has his/her own set of in-game tricks that could be shared. We also discovered that just about every DM at the DM picnic was also a builder of some degree or another, so that is probably more the norm than the unusual. So the questions are this: 1. Is there any day better than another for those who are interested? 2. Would it work better on a quarterly basis instead of a monthly basis?

I'm up for it. Sat or Sun would generally work better for me. Why not try it monthly to start and see how the turnout goes? Karvon

Saturday would be the best day for me as well. I could squeeze it in on Sunday if I need to but it would push me pretty hard since I'll have two campaigns going on Sunday.

Okay, just to keep everybody on track, I think scheduling these around the first of the month would be helpful. Let's shoot for November 8th, since November 1st is the U.S. Thanksgiving holiday. I'll set up a game page just so that people can put it on their schedules.

Isn't proof-reading a marvelous skill? Just wish I used it periodically. Ahem, okay, I'll look at the calendar. November 1st should be just fine because the U.S. Thanksgiving isn't until the end of November. Don't you sometimes wonder how it is that I actually managed to DM?

Ugh... that falls smack on top of an ongoing campaign for me. I could probably stop in for an hour or so at the top of the time slot though. Not sure how time changes will impact this further at this point either. Karvon

I thought you said 2 EST was fine for you, Karvon. At any rate, I suspect that we can hammer down a better time after time changes go into effect and see who all is involved. We'll never find a "perfect" time.
