I wouldn't ordinarily do this as I prefer word of mouth promotion as opposed to self promotion, but Jfoxtail over at the official NWN forums had this to say ->

Ya know Quill - I actually downloaded Muddles and read some of the extensive documentation. Wow is all I can say... You should post something on the boards at connections to get at least 4 more voters; and I can pm Star at the overlooked... it is completely unreasonable Muddles doesnt show up in MP searches.

So, with the above in mind, I'm appealing to anyone who hasn't had a look at Muddles in Milton to go take a gander, especially if you're itching to try your hand at DMing something but can't spare the time to create a module to run. "Muddles" has been designed as a sandbox, allowing a DM to improvise stories of their own within the given setting. If you want to find out more, I strongly advise you take a peep at the extensive DM Guide that accompanies the module, as this will give you a much greater idea of the true scope of the module itself. If greater interest is shown, there's always the possibility I'll consider making an add-on for it.

Many thanks for listening.

Thanks for pointing it out, I hadn't heard of it and it looks interesting.

I'll add that it was DMFI-certified a while back and has outstanding accompanying docs.

Ah, it is a bit outdated, using CEP 2.0 and dmfi 1.08 at most. Not hard to update though.

I noticed Many thanks.

Interesting comment from Mulu about being outdated, since I'm using CEP2 in my current SP project. Do you think this is a bad move? I didn't want to update to the newer version because although there are some great things present, ploughing through it all when building can be a bit of a 'mare, plus of course it would mean further work to make my own hak compatible. I'm also concerned that trying to update will mess with work done so far. Is such a fear unfounded?

My understanding was CEP 2.0 and dmfi 1.08 are not fully compatible with NWN 1.69, but like I said it's no big deal to update both systems and rebuild the mod.

Myself, I'm now a tileset junkie. If it isn't made with the latest tilesets I'm not interested in it. But I think your mod is a great way for a DM to start. In fact if I had found it a couple of years ago I'm sure I would have used it.

I have to agree, just to show others have the same mindset. Whenever I do a search for things, I only look at things updated or created since 2008. And then I look for 1.69 compatibility.

So, while the actual upgrade may not be necessary, going through the module in 1.69 and CEP2 and making sure everything works and then sticking a "1.69 - compatible" on it would be a good idea.

I had a heard of Muddles in Milton though and heard good things!
Good job, Quill!

I'm in the process of updating Muddles to CEP 2.2, DMFI 1.09, and NWN 1.69. If anyone has any ideas for further "Quest Chests" before I upload give me a shout within the next week.

Many thanks for your comments

You know, it's such a good DM starter mod, maybe we should tie it in to our DM Docs here? Or if not here then in the next NWC incarnation. Heck, combining Muddles with the DMFI 101 mod would be a fantastic package for an aspiring NWN DM.

It's now updated to 1.69, CEP 2.2 and DMFI 1.09. Same link as before at the top of this thread.
