New player looking for campaign

Hello! I am a relatively new player, having not had a real multiplayer neverwinter experience yet. I have completed several single player modules in both NWN1 and NWN2 and have a relatively good grasp on most classes. I am looking for someone hosting some games on here that will be willing to help me get aquainted with everything and have a good first multiplayer game, roleplaying preffered.

Let me know!

Come have a look at Avlis!

Here's our post in the PW area:

http://www.neverwinterconnections.com/forums/index.cfm/fuseaction/viewmessages/id/41215/guildid/0.htm

In particular if you'd like a chance to ease into roleplay in a massive and immersive multiplayer world, join the Elysia server and join my Monday night scheduled events, at 8:00 Central US time (GMT -5). Just ask in the DM channel when you log in. The group consists of Officers and Recruits in the Elysian Army, fighting off a lizardman invasion as their city and most of the world is slowly dragged into war... Any class or race is useful, though evils are frowned upon in Elysia, and kobolds / lizardmen will need a damned good excuse not to be attacked on sight. :-)

Alternately, you can ask any of the players logged in - we're very new-player friendly, and a quick private message will net you a wealth of assistance and info.

Thank you both, I have joined the first posters PW and have been introduced to the basics of the server. I hope to spend some more time there.

As for the second poster, I will be sure to check out that PW. Just a question, what level would I have to get to to be useful in one of those monday night events? It sounds interesting.

The Monday sessions are designed specifically for low-level characters to introduce new players to the world and the war. Right now the top character in that group is lvl 8 or 9. The guild is medium sized, with 5-7 regulars (all relatively new players) on the Monday session. Six other regular characters at various levels up to mid 30s are also guildmembers, and occasionally attend all or part of a session. Usually this is because the guild includes senior members of an order of mages and their expertise is needed, or because one of the senior officers (we have PCs up to the rank of Captain, three ranks below the general in charge) is around and either evaluating for promotion or helping train this new group. The Monday sessions are designed specifically for low-level characters to introduce new players to the world and the war.

So, you could be useful for the RP and problem-solving bits immediately, and depending on your class you could be in the thick of the fights in 1-3 levels. I mean, if you roll a sorcerer you're going to be pretty soft and squishy for a while. Roll a militant class and you'll be cracking heads in the Monday events pretty fast.

If you're interested in more nature-oriented RP, I have a Sunday afternoon group (meets at 12:00PM Central time on Sundays) of recruits for the army of the elven Spirit Land, a large nation allied with the City of Elysia and also battling an invasion on their border from the lizardmen. This group is a little more spread out in levels as there was an open call for defenders to join the army, so I have people from 5th level all the way to 25, with most in between. You might feel a bit like a 5th wheel with them just starting out, but it's a fantastic gathering and regularly includes 12-15 characters. If you make it next Monday, you'll likely be joining a joint Elysian/Elf Army mission to ambush an enemy strike team they discovered info about last session, before the enemy can exterminate what is apparently the last Yuan-ti settlement on the planet.

If they fail, the Yuan-ti area will be replaced with something new... actions typically have consequences that reflect in the world both from a roleplay standpoint and a module building one.

If you're into playing an evil-oriented character, I'd suggest you start on the Mikona module and look to joining the human armed forces or perhaps the local guard. They're run by a Paladin but all in all they're pretty corrupt - Mikona is much more evil-friendly if you're discreet and don't get caught blabbing about your evil exploits at the local hangouts...

Avlis is a place where your RP can get you a loooong way within the world setting. We've had Archmages who were 11th level before, and when I was playing regularly, I had a 7th level pacifist who was sitting with generals and warmasters moderating negotiations on a peace deal that changed all seven modules. Examples abound of that sort of thing...

Hope to see you soon!

Thanks for all the info spool! Sounds like a very interesting server, I will try to make it to the sunday and monday events. I am a big fan of RP having an effect on the world, so it sounds like I will be quite at home. Hope to see you soon.

EDIT: It seems your PW needs a password, I filled out a player application on the website if thats needed for the password.
