i am known as arcane smoob on nwn and would like to know how do i meet other players and how do i look up games so i can sign up and join becuase for some reason when i host a game it doesnt work right and no one ever joins even if i host it for ten hours plz give some advice ty.

To join a game, look at the front page and check out open and application games shown.
Application games, may require you to submit some additional info, such as a short biography with background about your proposed PC, which the host will consider in deciding whether or not you'll fit in with his/her game.
In addition, a number of persistent worlds (PWs) advertise here on NWC. Though they don't always post events to NWC's calender, they often have regular events running which you may be able to get in on, if you drop in. Even when no DM events are running, some PWs have a fair number of folks online at any given time and you might also be able to link up and join a group hunting or working on scripted quests.
When hosting a game, you'll get more players if you: a) schedule at least a week in advance, b) provide fair amount of background info on your planned campaign/module setting, c) don't require haks beyond CEP, d) run at a time when more people are available - usually evenings or weekends USA time or UK time will draw the most interest.
If you're having technical problems hosting, you should check out the faq's and theads for troubleshooting such router and firewall problems, then post any specific questions/problems you're unable to resolve. Any number of folk here should be able to offer some advice, once you've done that.
