I am new here. Im interested in playing some multiplayer games, but I dont even really know how to go about doing it. Ive tried joining some that dont need passwords but I cant get into it for some reason. I am guessing i need some sort of haks.
So basically my question is where do I even start? What do I need to get involved? Any good advice?
It covers the basics of where and how to get what you'll need to play on most all current NWN persistent worlds and campaign modules that are scheduled for play on this site.
It would probably be a good idea if you run your updater which is a tab you can select when you start the NWN program...it will do the work for you and 1.69 is the currently used patch/version of the game. Only after that will you likely be able to use most of the Hak's that said post describes. One hak pak (a combined download of various material) I would suggest here is the CEP 2.2 or 2.1. Once you DL the CEP and unzip it will install itself to your proper hak file location, well, after you double click on it and give it permission to install
Many PW's and multi-player mods use CEP and for many that is the only set of hak's you will need. Best way to tell if your version is compatible is to visit the web-sites of the Module in question. When your looking at the listing of game sites on game spy select server info and a box will pop up which usually includes web site details and game version used.
Neverwinter Nights Vault also has a fine listing of multi-player worlds with more detailed info on the server in question and as to what type of game style they promote, Role play/hack&slash...ext.
