I have been a P&P roleplayer and DM of AD&D since the early 80's, i've been playing NWN and NWN2 since they came out (though i no longer own the NWN set of games). I would like to progress now into being a DM again. From what i understand it is best to have a guide to learn how to use the DM kit in the game. I've never opened that part of the NWN2 game is there a guide for DMing in there or is it recommended that i join a game as an assistant DM first and watch what goes on?

Are there known issues with DM101 for NWN2 and the latest patch? I had some oddities where I loaded a game and I couldn't go invisible/intangible any longer and some of the DMFI interface stuff seems delayed or unresponsive, particularly I couldn't use the book any longer in the forest area. It's possible it could've just been a bad save as well. Edit: I started over and tried the forest path again. When I get to the point where I need to quit the book, possess the bandit leader, identify his items, then re-open the book it doesn't do anything when I click on it. I also am unable to hold ctrl and drag a box across multiple creatures to select them all.

Believe these are issues involving your selected NWN2 interface options, rather than the mod. They were reported a while back on the Bioware boards; if you do a search there it should pop up with the settings that need to be changed.

Great, thanks Carlo. I'll check there. Edit: I've looked through the DM forums as well as the DMFI guild boards and I'm not finding the issues listed. The biggest one is not being able to re-open the book after possessing and un-possessing the bandit leader. It effectively halts any further progress in the module and no matter if I try to start it from the hotbar or from inventory nothing happens. Is there a suggested list of interface settings when running as a DM using the DMFI tools in NWN2?

I've been able to replicate the failure of the book re-activation following possession of an NPC. This appears to be a hard-coded bug introduced in the latest NWN2 patch. Thanks Obsidian. I'll post on this to the NWVault download page and to the NWN2 bug reports, although given Obsidian's lack of attention to the DM client, I don't have a lot of expectations as to a fix.

Thanks for interface help and for looking into the book bug, Carlo. Is it the type of bug that will affect the function of anything else in the DMFI tools? If it's just an issue with the DM101 tutorial I can work around it.

It's a new bug; hopefully the DMFI tools won't be affected, since I haven't seen any reports so far of loss of functionality.
