Heartstone Saga Chapter 6

This game session we only had two people join us. Rose and Mathais. Even though there were only two people they still made it through to the end of the game session.

Rose and Mathias spent some time resupplying themselves from their long journey in the Heartstone Labyrinth, and were preparing themselves for their journey across the Trackless Sea on a ship captained by Raleen a female Dwarf.

Once they were ready and boarded the ship they were asked to check out some suspicious cargo that they took on. Mathais opened a crate at the bottom of the ship and an undead shadowblade unfolded itself and shouted out the order to others of it's kind in similiar crates to attack. It was touch and go for a bit in the lower decks of the ship, but they made it out alive and termintated all the undead.

The next day a ship that were following them caught up to them and onboard was Victor the Vicious and a lot more undead as well as a portal. Victor and Captain Raleen had some words, but of course the crew of the Anvil were not just going to give up the artifact that they worked so hard to retrieve. It was an exciting and exhausting battle as Rose would say.

On the last leg of their journey towards the city of Fairfield one of the dwarves noticed three flying figures coming towards the ship. As they got closer it turned out to be three dragons. With the help of one of their dragon friends they were able to fend of the dragon attack and then pull into port at Fairfield and begin their search for Rredre McPhearson who would be able to help them either destroy or hide the Heartstone.

The game session ended soon after entering port.

Chapter 6 Session 2

After a few game freezing problems just before game time things started ok and on time.

Rose, Arsenia, and Rakhir started out in Fairfield wandering around checking out the stores and the local Pubs before finding Rredre McPhearson's house.

When the arrived at Rredre's house the were greeted at the door and was shown the way to a meeting in progress. At the end of the meeting it was decided that it was best to destroy the Heartstone and by doing that the team would have to go to the Underworld and putting the Heart in the Flame of Orcus. Though in order to do that the Heartstone would need to be made flesh again.

Garens the graveyard attendant told the team that they should visit one of the temples in the area. The priests would have an idea on how to make the Heartstone flesh again. Once at the temple the priest said that the only way to make it flesh would be to give it back to Vracknor. Though once given to Vracknor and used by him he will be a weakened state and that would be the best opportunity to kill Vracknor and cut out his heart then to take it to the Flame of Orcus.

So now the adventurers are about halfway down an ancient crypt going to the bottom where there may be a portal to the Underworld. Though it is believed that Victor is in the area who has brought all the dead within the crypt back to life to keep everyone from the portal.

Chapter 6 Session 3

This session went very well with some incredible battles along with it.

It started with Rose, Mathais, Rakhir and Arsenia at the 3rd level of the Ancient Tomb. They fought their way down to the 5th level fighting all sorts of undead monstrosities. Until they reached a secret area held by the undead Shadowblades. There they fought Victor the Vicious who gave them a fight for their lives.

After Victor's death they continued through a portal into the underworld in search of the undead Vracknor. They fought many undead while wandering around until by chance they met Enrith'Litheon who was sent by the mages of the city of Callydir to help them on their adventure. While doing more wandering in the Underworld they came upon a tower that was half buried in the sand. Within the tower were two ghosts that told them where they may find Vracknor and the Flame of Orcus. Before they left one of the ghosts recognized some of the party members and told them that he was Allera's father that she has been searching for, and that the drow have killed him and her mother, and the rest of the slaves to the Drow just before the Hills of Goth collapsed.

After the visit with Allera's parents they went wandering around the Underworld some more and came upon a cave that appeared to be a temple to the god Orcus. The party figured it was best to find Vracknor and get his heart first before going to the Flame of Orcus. So they wandered the Underworld some more till the came upon the Undead Vracknor.

Rose then gave Vracknor his heart so that he may become flesh once again in return making his petrified heart flesh as well. Vracknor told them he would show them his true power now. Though the transfer from undead to flesh made him weak; he was still a very formidable foe. The battle lasted for over 15 minutes (which is at least 2 1/2 hours in the game world) There were some deaths but their friends raised them back to life to continue the battle to the very end when Rakhir sent an arrow full of electricity right into Vracknor's newly made heart!

Now that was a battle Bards are going to sing and talk about for many generations to come.
