At the bottom of the pit sits an ugly little gnome in a gray hooded cloak. From the edge just another rock, but he will rise from the mud and climb back out to haunt old friends and make new ones. In the meantime, even if his sandwich is covered in mud, his pencils and graph paper are safe and dry in his lunch box.
