Hey this is Renegade93, and I have gathered 4 friends to do a campaign in a LOTR setting, we are all five very skilled at roleplaying and it would be a drawn out plot that we would not neccissarily survive. It would have challenge, chance to die.. ect,. Many war scenes as it is the standard LOTR module except with some custom things like Gandalf, his equipment, and a war token system where players can be pitted against other players if neccissary without npc's getting mixed up and attacking their allied players. If you are interesting in dm'ing this campaign for us or want to know more (because this is summary and there is ALOT more to know about the setting, time period, and direction of the campaign ect,.) please leave your msn, e-mail, or x-fire below so I can contact you. One of us would dm but we think it would be much more fun if we all got to actually play together. Please don't waste our time if you are new to dm'ing we are several friends having a get together after a long time and would like this experience to be a good one. | That's a little unfriendly sounding for a first impression. Given that most/all of us who DM regularly here on NWC are generally gaming at or near "full capacity", someone who's starting out or trying to attract a player base may be your only option.

Suppose so, however flies aren't exactly what I was hoping to attract. I know it sounds a bit sour but I've seen some very poor dm'ing in my time on NWN. By new I mean brand new and couldn't find a PC dicebag in the creator menu to save your life. A new dm as in "I've recently begun dm'ing but know my way around the DM client" is different from what I meant by a "new dm". I appologize if I sounded particularly sour in my previous post.

I think your posts fail to appreciate some truths about the nature of this game. Given the tremendous amount of work that goes into hosting and DM'ing a weekly campaign, and just how few DM's there are left here, I would strongly encourage one of your group to take up the mantle and learn the ropes. There are very good guides on our front page which though old are still very useful. In particular the DungeonMaster's Guide by Lazybones in an excellent primer, as is the DMFI 101 mod on the vault by CarlosOne. There is also a LOTR PW that gets very good reviews though I haven't tried it myself. It would have the advantage of being ready to play. Speaking of which, one of the issues you left out was, where's the mod? Have you already built it, or are you expecting someone to donate their valuable free time and build one for you from scratch? Do you have a hak list requirement as well? It's hard enough to find a DM at all, but trying to find an experienced and talented DM/builder, who is going to host, build and DM exactly to your specifications is a pipe dream, to be frank. You may have had a chance at that in 2002 when enthusiasm was high, but certainly not now. Anyone who is still left and still building and DM'ing has their own projects, and probably full campaigns. There are literally fewer than a dozen of us DM/builders left here, and not all of us are active at any given time. Again, I would strongly encourage one of your group to take up the mantle of building, hosting and DM'ing this demanding campaign you've proposed. There is no realistic expectation of finding a skilled DM/builder to volunteer to meet all of your requirements, or even most of them, and in the meantime you aren't playing this interesting sounding campaign of yours. If you want something done, you have to do it yourself, as the old saying goes. I look forward to seeing your campaign. If you have any questions or need any advice, feel free to ask. The folk here are quite friendly.

We have numerous DMs, you and your troupe could shop your desires among them once you decide which might be your preferred style. If you like the flavor JRRT delivered, you should see our PW, it has all the elements you seek save it is not JRRT (I just don't know JRRT well enough to please the hard core fans so would rather give them the freshness of a new story rather than one poorly portrayed in their favorite setting). TREANTS, powerful RANGERS, secret societies, strange magic - it is all there, right down to the last elven cake. Come tour the tutorial area with me and see if it lives up to your needs - take the time to discover my personal philosophy on the server and DMing. I think you will like it here if you take the time to look. Be well. Game on. GM_ODA 24x7 we bring the game. 66.232.100.90 cep2.1 or better aldohral.forumotion.com

It's much easier to produce a good mod every 2 weeks rather than every week. It would be even better if two of your group learned the ropes and switched off on DM duties. Each of you could pick a region and start there. One of you might start in Rivendell, for example, while the other starts in Gondor. Or you could run campaigns set in different ages. I've toyed with the Idea of starting my own 4th age campaign starting in Bree, but right now my plate is full to overflowing. I'm working on my first MP mod for public release. Once that's done I want to see if there's any interest in restarting my Greyhawk campaign. If not, we'll see... but there's a part of my brain seriously considering working on an MP NWN2 mod for the next NWNCon.
