Overall, sounds like a good time: after a big holiday (at least in the U.S.) and during the middle of summer.

As long as it's not the weekend of/after a time change, that should be good.

Mind you, holding it in the middle / at the height of summer just might thin the numbers of participants so significantly that it might be a bigger flop than last year's.

I'm thinking from the perspective of those like myself who will be unable to devote time to running or participating in a game because of holidays and/or work coverage and/or a spouse who will make life hell for trying to stick by the computer to play a game instead of being outside.

Still, if these dates are the right ones, I wish the Con well.

Last year was partly my fault. I agreed to do PR for it. then came Halloween time I took a acting job at a haunted house. There were three fellas to do the task of promoting NWCon in my place and I think they bailed.

Urks latest Banner proves we can still be creepy even not on Halloween.

She's become a more advanced life form in the past 6 months... it's every day now.

Just throwing it out there... what about September 10-12?

Summer is over and everyone is back to the routine and in school. Summer sports leagues are done as well.

Might maximize those that can and want to participate on both sides of the 'DM Screen'.

Personally I like the September idea just because it would give me more time to prepare. I'm up to my eyeballs in a building project just now. On the other hand I suspect we'll get a better response from the younger set (and their parents) if we do it in summer.

I would also vote for September, for what it's worth. I won't be able to host anything in July, but probably could do at least one weekend session during September. Hard to say which date would end up attracting more people, I think good arguments could be made both ways.

Alright one of my NWCon goals this year I was aiming to try to get at least 200 users to at least join a Scheduled event. That is why I wanted to reduce it to two days instead of three. I really hope some of yall are ready to have some events planed to fill three days. This also gives a longer time frame to plan more events.

I have in my possession A autographed box and game of NWN 2 Storm of Zehir from the Obsidian Team! And two Obsidian coasters signed by Chris Avellone some would consider a Game legend and awesome story teller. from games like Star Trek Starfleet Academy , Fall out 2, KOTOR 2 , my faves Icewind Dale 1 & 2 ,Balder's Gate: Dark Alliance. Planescape Torment and NWN2+MOTB.
(Still mad I couldn't play my Descent to Undermountain PC game from Interplay!) but he had a part with that one too!

I have spoke with Atari US (they took a message) and have not gotten a return from any higher up's. So I am thinking of contacting Atari UK again like I did with NWCon4 and Infogrames too in France and hope they still consider us friends.

I'd also favor a Sept date based on past debates about this; summer seems folks are just busier than after school starts up again.

Time change occurs the End of Oct in the US which is what messed up things a little for the last con with the Halloween date. Shouldn't be an issue for either a July or Sept date.

Given Skunk's illness, I am not quite sure where the Con is going to go at this point. Marc is not going to be able to give it much, if any, attention for some time to come.

I was wondering where he disappeared to. Tell him we're pulling for him.

If it's all the same to you I'm going to keep working on the assumption that he'll be with us in September.

I'll run a full pack of games. New stuff too.

I hope Skunkeen is okay! Too much illness around here lately.

Anyone have anything to report on this? We're about 3 months out from the last date being tossed around.

Just wondering,
