Cool, I was hoping we didn't drive you away after your first game.
I look forward to seeing you next week.

I'm going to miss the week after that, 8/15. My daughter in laws baby shower.

OOC

I may not have a machine for a few days so I may have to skip this and possibly the next session.

With this game being at 6am my time, I should be able to make this game on August 15th. I'll post if anything changes before then.

"crash transiting

Well, my last session did not end on a very good note I'm thinking ...

After transitioning back to the central area (with the Inn), my PC was "bugged" in that couldn't "see" other objects, including the ones in my inventory. I wasn't too concerned as I'd figured we were near the end of our game time anyway ... and then my game timed out completely.

When I logged back in, I chose the "newer" save file; but it ported me back to the point where I started the session (goblin camp). So, I headed back toward the Inn and then Karvon shut the server down ...

So, I'm not certain how much of my last session (if any) got saved; as I suspect I was not in the game when Karvon saved it.

Any recommendations on what to do during my next log in? Should I take the PC with the most XP (if they are different), or stick with the "save game" one (I'm thinking it will be from the game before this one) ... ?

Take the guy with the most xp, I can port you to the party at the start. If you find you're missing anything crucial, I can replace it for you before we get underway.

Next Mod

I've chosen The Wanderer as the next mod, another HoF winner. While we may be a bit stronger than suggested to start, looking over some of the comments about combat difficulty, I think I'd rather err on the side of a bit tougher, than too weak.

I assumed that we could propose or make a wish list here or that you could make a shortlist to give us options.

I have two concerns about this one:
1. We are not lvl 1 or 2 and may miss some of the related fun
2. I am not sure I want to play a module made by the author of "Wyvern Crown of Cormyr"

Alternate module could include things like:
1. Lands of Intrigue: Castle Spulzeer
2.The Mysterious Tower
3. Pirates of the Sword Coast (all players need it I think)

All players need a premium mod for everybody to play it.

I actually started playing the Wanderer solo quite a few of years ago, but quickly gave up as the combats were just too tough for a single rogue; I spent most of my time running away or watching the NPCs kill stuff I lured back to them. Comments on the Vault seemed to support the fact you needed stronger PC(s) to have a good time. Given the open nature of the design, I suspect we'll be fine with our current party.

I did like the story of what I saw of it and the author's got a pretty good scripting system in place, and I've used his scripts in some of my own mods.

Your first suggestion is one I did consider, however, there were several references to the fact it was unfinished and there were some unfixed bugs which broke some quests. I'm not sure I want to worry about such in a non DM'ed game.

The second one is out as I incorporated that into my current Adventures in Greyhawk DM campaign, and know that one inside and out

I don't own PotSC, and it's no longer available AFAIK. In addition, I'm not sure you can play the premium modules any longer; I've heard mixed reports that server validation required is no longer up.

lvl 5-6? Some of us are still lvl 4, no? May be.

Plus I cannot switch and player with a rookie character. Also in the readme the author mentioned that mages would get a free feat and some classes may get skill bonus.

All right, I will join for the first game. Next week will fall during NWCon 6 week-end (not to mention my birthday) . I strongly support that event and participate every year so I will do same this year...

If anyone's still level 4, that shouldn't be a problem, given the level range of the module.

As I think I originally stated, the plan is to take the same PCs, or those of roughly equal level, thru a series of modules. If you want to switch to another PC, you're welcomed to do so. You'll start at the base xp for the lowest member of the party with standard starting gold for that level.

As for NWCon 6, I've no problem with taking the weekend off, if that's what folks wanna do. I'm not sure though, how many events - if any - are scheduled in and around the time we normally play.

I'm going to have to withdraw from the Sunday 6am Eastern game. My weekends shift so I have more awake time with my wife. I'm not getting much sleep on Sunday mornings and it's really starting to wear me out.
I had fun, but I'll have to end my gaming with Bawbuthor at those times.

Have fun, I hope your able to continue without me.

You know I'd like to play, sadly, I can't.

Ok, we're down a player and with the con coming, I think we'll put off the first session in the new mod till the weekend following the con. That'll give me time to upgrade to CEP2.3 and perhaps recruit another warrior for our band.

Having to Close This Campaign

Regrettably, due to my new work schedule, I'm going to have to close this campaign. This time of the day - and week - is quite popular for private lessons, and with my reduced availability due to my new HS position, I have to cut back some on my gaming slots in order to provide reasonable time slots for those folks.

My other campaigns will not be affected as they are far too early or late to conflict with my teaching schedule.

It's been fun and thanks for playing.

Regards

Karvon

I could tell you were getting a bit strained for time -- was pretty much spending my entire Sundays from (very) early morning til late evening in your playground. It was fun, enjoyed the sessions. Thanks for hosting and thanks to all those who participated.

Cheers. Dave
