Stanley the Stout

The youngest of four children, Stan learned locksmithing from his father, but had little interest - or share - in the family business. Instead, he spent much of his free time as a boy in the company of his easy going grandfather, making the rounds with him as he visited various taverns and pubs, chatting up his many acquaintances. Eventually, Stan was apprenticed to a local barkeep friend of his grandfather. This, however, turned out to be merely a front for the local thieves guild. Over the next several years, Stan was introduced to the tricks of the trade and learned quickly. His sharp eyes and ears, excellent agility and good memory all contributed to his rapid progress through the apprentice ranks. Now, a journeyman, he seeks his way in the world.

Dark haired, dark eyed, wiry, soft spoken hobbit.

Bawbuthôr is a human, anyone can see that. What most don't know, he is of Númenorean descent. He goes by his name of Adûnaic descent. If asked he may even say he is a Ranger of the North. He will not willing acknowledge his Sindarin name.

His clothing is made up of rough skins, hanging in various states of disarray. He walks quickly when on the open road and creeps quietly when exploring underground. He's not one for talking, unless he is very sure of what he is saying. Although not known to get into fights, he doesn't look like he would back down from one.

Nori

Nori is a stout dwarf of the Longbeard clan (house of Duran). He is a cleric of Aule, creator of the original dwarves. He is seldom seen without his mail, shield and weapon, generally a hammer. He seems to be on some sort of quest, possibly searching for something; however, when pressed he simply states he is "seeing what there is to see".

A compact dwarf with earth-brown skin and dark hair with a full beard. His dark eyes are nearly black, but reflect the light in a friendly manner. He has a deep, rumbling voice and hails from the Iron Hills.

Sequoia Wisetree

More a nickname than a name really but his real name was long forgotten.

So why would a Sindarin Elf speak and dress like a Haradrim if that is even possible?

For sure Sequoia does not like to talk about his past, in fact he does not like to talk at all most of the time. In confidence he would say that he was captured and enslaved at a young age. He was raised by by the Haradrims and later trained by them staying among them for a long time or at least enough to outlive his captors.

He is the last of a scouting party sent to Emyn Uial just before the end of winter...

Sequoia had left the campsite to hunt deers. He followed the river downstream looking for a safe spot where he could wait for the game coming to drink. He was facing the wind as usual. He waiting for a while but he could see no deers despite some footprint he previously spotted. He returned to the camp managing to catch a rabbit and grab some large eggs on the way. The camp was too quiet. He whistled to signal to sentinel of his return but there was no answer. He then quietly moved to the camp only to find half a dozen haradrim dead. Several had been killed by arrows. From the look they seemed liked rangers arrows. What were dunedains doing in that area was a mystery. Sequoia was now the last "tribeman" in the party alive. Going back would mean certain death. He was now alone but above all free. He decided to continue towards Emyn Uial and see what fate had planed for him...

Seems they barely got to the edge of town and they are already sidetracked from moving towards Emyn Uial.

Bawbuthôr didn't mind sorting out shades and spirits, but time was wasting. He was anxious to see how Emyn Uial fared.

Beneath the giant tree

The party has made it's way back under the giant tree north of the inn and is weighing it's options for dealing with black cats and shadows in the underground forest ahead.

"I think we might want to reconsider our options. The boy that told me of this tunnel hopefully never got to that first black cat. Now we are looking at a whole pack of them down here, under ground. In a forest....."

Bawbuthor scratches his chin, thinking.

"I say we cannot charge them. Perhaps something else could work. 'Split and smash' or may be 'divide and destroy'. All I am saying is that we have no chance of taking all the cats and spirits at once. Yet, we could lure a few cats and after that see if we can tackle the spirits."

*Bawbuthor looks over the dwarf's meager supplies*

"I'm sure glad your willing to buy all this equipement we keep 'finding'. Otherwise, it'd be a long walk back to town."

*looks back towards town*

"I really think we should teach those bandits a lesson for what they done at the Inn. It ain't right busting in the door and slaughtering hard working people."

"We still one sleepy dwarf among us. How many keg of ale would he need to wake up?"

The Haradrim raised wild elf was satisfied the way things were somehow improving. Perhaps his elven heritage was starting to surface making him less barbaric than he previously was.

"Well, we faced bandits, cats and bugs. Do you think we can still find things that "need to be killed" around here? Or do you think you have the stomach to face a tribe of bugbears?"

First off, those bugbears seem awfully organised. I'm thinking we can expect to see something a lot tougher than bugbears in that mine.

Sequoia found a large bear in the forest. Did the beast kill all his friends? One moment ago he was with the dwarf asking where the others went and the next he was alone unable to find any fresh tracks. After waiting for a moment, listening in vain for a familiar voice or a sign...

After a while he spitted and went back to the inn.

OOC

I may not have a machine for a few days so I may have to skip this and possibly the next session.

The dwur looked around and shrugged. He was certain he had followed the tree lover through the path to the west -- but in the confusion of fighting off the goblin horde that greeted him and the others, he had lost track of Sequoia. A search amongst the fallen for his comrade, thankfully turned up nothing -- but that still left the question of where he had gotten off to ...
