Well, I just recently signed up for a campaign setting - which was excellent by the way - but being used to so many PWs, two hours seems rather short for me. So, I'm curious that if I DMed a custom setting, if others would be interested. Likely, Sunday is out, but Fridays and Saturdays are free. It may not be for a little while, since garnering interest in the goal of this post and if it does, I'd start building the module itself. Likely, our heroes would start out all gathered in one of the weirdest and most real dreams they've ever had (coming from Faerûn), to meet an oracle that tells them of their destiny to free the lands of Overlia. They'd then be transported to a strange land where the rules of Faerûn don't quite imply to everything anymore. I'd be making a very unique history of these lands, it's people, their enemies, demons, and the divine. Anyways, let me know if anyone would be interested.

Posted from another site for more insight; To the north are the ruins of the Ancient Ones, those who gave their lives for Overlia and watch over us all. It is now, more than ever, that we seek their guidance and the blessings of the Divine. To the south, the everplentiful plains of Overlia, where the Elves have carved out a beutiful kingdom that is only matched by nature itself and even further more with the dwarves that build their kingdom under the mountains. It is south of our humble kingdom that dwells the threat of the Deamons, spawn of man's sin. Eldwern, a wizard of some might, in his meddlings of things that were best left forgotten unleashed the sin of man and corrupted his soul. Now we watch as the elven kingdom lies in ruins and the armies match our way. We have not lost hope just yet though. We brave sons and daughters of men fight with valor and courage as the Deamons seek to cover our land in darkness! Praise be the day that Eldwern is slain and the hordes spill back into the darkness that they came from. Orcale "I invite you brave dreamers to enter the Lands of Overlia, where myserty and might combine into one and where things even worse than a man's sin can dwell in the shadows. Come, O' brave souls of the beyond. Fullfill your destiny and carve legends into the lands for generations to come." Setting • Character Levels: Start at level 8 • Minimum Players Needed (Max): 1 (3) • On Going? Yes • Available Hosted Days/Times: Friday or Saturday (decided with players), Fri (1700-2200), Sat (1000-2300) • Role-play: Heavy • Hack-and-Slash: Medium • Notes: I'm in the process of building the starting areas right now. I'm mostly looking for interested players for the moment.

I'm sorry the times are not good for me. I too would like to play a bit more than two hours. I remember playing PnP for 20 hours on many occasions. PW's seem like the best chance of playing extended hours. You could set up a campaign on a PW using NWC, fill out the form and just do scripted quests. Mac

| Thank you for the suggestion and for replying, though I'm not looking to campaign on a PW, but in my own setting. I'm sure someone with interest and the time will eventually come. =)

I hate to say it, and it's obviously not the case for Tampa, but I think the length of time you want to play is perhaps the opposite to most. Don't get me wrong, in my time I've enjoyed entire evenings spent on a PW RPing with others, but to be honest it's not something a busy person can afford the time to do. Could be wrong, but I suspect you'll find most of the long term players find a short, two hour run slotted in around other RL commitments - even if it /is/ just keeping the time spent gaming inside the tolerance limits of your partner - is the preferred option. Reading further I find I can't currently make the times mentioned, but previously I balked for exactly that reason.

Hm. My apologizes, I hadn't thought of the confusion that most are having with this. No, I only meant to run the campaign within that time frame, not the entire day! I suppose I should edit that to say, 'available times to host' as opposed to 'times hosted.' Sorry everyone.

Now, mine ears Doth perk up. I tend towards afternoon/evenings(EST) myself. 11 hours is more session that I'd be game for but I'm fairly sure I can swing 4 hours at a time, give or take.

Cool. =) I've started some forums for the setting actually, though I haven't gotten to much of it besides listing the haks required for the setting (CEP 2.3, Mirkwood Tileset, and custom music yet to be posted). Obviously, it won't be hosted today, but it should be ready either next Saturday or the Saturday after. I'll keep you up to date. • http://blandsofoverlia.runboard.com/ = Lands of Overlia Forums

Mask, are you still interested in this? If so, have a character concept in mind? Really, I'm not picky at all, so you're free to play whatever.
