I posted a "Private" topic in the game forum containing connection info. It showed up as private post on the game page, but even though I was of course the author and a member of that event I could not open it directly from there. I was a little confused. After the game when I actually went in to the forum from the "My events" section of this page I discovered I could indeed get into the topic. Just not by directly clicking on it in the game page. Like I said not sure it is a real bug, but it was a wee bit confusing the first time around.

Question: Could you not open it because it wasn't even a link? Or after cliking on it it said private?

It should be working now. Let me know if it does not. Also, you might make sure all of your players can see it and make sure that all of your C0-DMs can see it.

My Co-DM, myself, and at least one player can now see and access all 3 posts from the gamepage. Thanks Rizzen!

Rizzen, I noticed this while migrating our Roleplay Thread (Birthright of the North). When I modify a post on Page One and click Submit, I get redirected to Page Two of the thread. It's not a big deal, but as long as we're tracking issues, I thought I'd mention it. Thanks! - J'Dai

Rizzen, Also, while moving our RP thread, I had a post that I could not move. I was getting errors and sent to the http://wwwX.rpgwarehouse.com page (so I knew something was up). The other posts worked fine, so I am wondering if it was due to the post's length? I skipped it, rather than breaking it apart (no big deal), but wanted to mention this. - J'Dai

I think it was the posts length. I am trying to find out the maximum length a post can be and restricting to that.

That is fixed now... the bug and the number of forums you had.

| Well, OK - that confused me. The name is the thread starter, but the day/time is for the last post and could be anyone. I guess I'll have to work on my literacy skills. *wink* - J'Dai

I cannot imagine the people having this problem have had more than 65535 characters in their documents. I am wondering if instead it is the ODBC Linux driver that is limiting the amount of text that can be sent to the database.... Hmm. I might just have to impose a lower limit myself (educated guess) and go from there.

The maximum size of a BLOB or TEXT object is determined by its type, but the largest value you can actually transmit between the client and server is determined by the amount of available memory and the size of the communications buffers. You can change the message buffer size (max_allowed_packet), but you must do so on both the server and client ends. See section 7.5.2 Tuning Server Parameters.
