Actually, Dianddra (sp?) had/has an ongoing campaign set in semi-historical Europe. There WAS some very low-level magic, but set in a religious context. Sounded interesting! - Forrestwolf

I've been a very big fan of Duchy of Genoa until I left for personal reasons, actualy that's the thing that made me interested in historical rp in the first place. Sadly I don't think the concept fitted well with the social theme of the server, few people seemed to want to spend the time necessary to research so it never became peopular. It's still running, though not 24/7 anymore.

Hi all, This is a very brief hijacking. Please hand over your wallets and... hrm. Wrong thread. ; ) A few friends and I have been trying for months to run a campaign set in a historical setting, but the lack of players always made this impossible. Currently, we're thinking about making something in the very first years of the 16th century, set in Guernsey... a small setting, easier to recreate in NwN than large towns which are always, and irremediably, empty. If this, hopefully, interest you, please look up the "Sevilla 1503" NwN guild (on the main Bioware boards... http://nwn.bioware.com), or email me at M_Periander@hotmail.com'>DM_Periander@hotmail.com, I'd be glad to give precisions! Cheers, Tal.

Want to bring up another aspect of creative module scenarios - namely, scenarios that work well elsewhere but nobody has really applied to NWN. My own "The Hunted" (still need to finish that up for release, durn it) isn't a particularly original story. However, I think it can be a compelling one, pitting a group of bounty hunters against escaped death row convicts. It's a story framework that pops up in other genres, particularly Westerns, but I haven't seen elsewhere in NWN. The competing parties angle also is unusual in RP-focused modules Another example is espionage, which might also plug into the idea of the thieves' guild campaign idea mentioned above. Would work very well I think in a single-player module -- James Bond-style adventures could be replicated very well in a fantasy setting (was pretty much fantasy to begin with!) I think pure cloak-and-dagger would be tougher with a full party, but the idea of being a "hit squad" or the like could be done well. Doesn't have to be evil-based, either...even the "good" organizations may need people to get down and dirty sometimes, so the rest can keep their hands clean.

Great idea for a thread. This one has sparked the creative fires. Thanks.
