Need a little info on the FR

OK people I need help once again lol..if I didn't have so many bills I'd just go to the book store and grab the books that would help me, but considering its close to 100 miles to the nearest book store, it would cost me a lot to make a special trip for a few books.

What I need is a site, or a list if someone knows it, of all the major countries(areas) in the Forgotten Realms as well as all major cities in each country. I know it's a lot to ask for lol, but hopefully I can get most of it from all the knowledgeable people on here who help me so much. The reason why I need them is I am making an RP where you post by message(basically like the forum here) that way I can RP in the FR with my friends who dont own NWN(between sessions on here of course lol). I also may start making my own mod with the info set in the FR if I get enough time.

There's a TON of info out there on the 2nd edition Realms; it's about 30 years before the 3rd edition version of the setting, and the rules info itself is out of date, but the core details are accurate.

Free Realms PDFs: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/downloads

Realms Timeline (history):

http://www.geocities.com/TimesSquare/Castle/2566/realmstime0.htm

Candlekeep (general Realms info):

http://www.candlekeep.com/

There's also a good thread here about Realms gods that has some good links.

(in an odd note, my Google search brought back one of my games here as a hit!)

EDIT: tried to focus more on your specific request; here's a site with a partial list that may bear more study: http://www.geocities.com/TimesSquare/Castle/2566/Locations.html

As a player I'd reccomend you invest in the Forgotten Realms campaign setting book. My last D&D world was Greyhawk, but this book has given me a good overview of the realms to use with NWN.

More tools in the belt...

Here are a few of my "Favorites":

http://www.dandello.net/realms/
This site contains interesting and well-made lists for the deities of the Forgotten Realms, as well as a list of feats, prestige classes, skills, and a birthdate generator complete with realms astrology.

http://www.crosswinds.net/~prespos/FRSearch.htm
Virtual Fantasy is a good index to everything Forgotten Realms. Unfortunately, it's on a crosswinds server, so you better get a program that prevents pop-ups. Apart from that, you will find information on almost everything on the Forgotten Realms that you could possibly find on the net, though many links are broken.

I think all of you for the help so far. It's been a big help It makes it a lot easier then the 200 mile round trip it would take me to go buy the books lol. I'll make a note to grab them next time I'm in anyway, but this way I can at least get things rolling before I go to town.

Dude!

Where do you LIVE? I lived in Wyoming for a year, where we had elk wandering around on the golf course, and railroad crossing ramps that shut down the highway for bad storms during the winter - and even there it wasn't no 100 miles, uphill both ways, to anything! (Well, maybe to find a cute girl.)

Well

at least that leaves a lot of time for NWN . . . and maybe sitting on your porch drinking beer, looking at your broken down pickup truck, and thinking about your dead dog and the woman (or man) that left you. Did I miss anything?

Oh yeah - D'oh! Well, I know from living in WY that a 100 miles really isn't THAT bad - should only take you (assuming you have a decent car, beyond the broken down pickup truck) an hour, hour fifteen max to cover that. Long straight roads with nobody on em. Used to make it to Denver (90 miles) in an hour, and Salt Lake (500 miles) in under 6. Daytime driving sometimes got it up to 135. And I ain't talking kilometers here.
