Etarnon is a place with a long past, at least 15,000 years of history, or so the legends say.

After aeons of time, and uncounted civilizations, the world approaches the end of its existence, as the power of magic is flickering and fading.

Much knowledge has been lost, and tales are told of a Golden Age, when men had the power to control the very world itself.

But something happened. And now the old knowledge is nearly all forgotten, except in fragmentary records left in abandoned and crumbling ruins, destroyed long ago.

Now, in the days of the Last of the Wizard-Kings, The few remaining Grey Sorcerers attempt to retrieve arcane spells from lost stores of knowledge, trying to locate unknown ruins to plunder and piecing together the history of the Hypernians, sundered beneath the waves in a catastrophe of epic proportions that virtually destroyed civilization in the distant past, leaving scattered ruins and corrupted patches of landscape in its wake.
