Most of the new artists were living in poorly contructed wooden homes, and a fire caught in the middle of a midnight party. The flames leapt not from the roofs, but from the lower levels, causing the upper floors to come crashing down. Seldane did anything he could to help those caught, and nearly died himself. He pulled whoever he could to safety, and the fire was contained before it could spread outside the city, but the artists were devestated.

Believing that this was all due to a lack of responsibility and upkeep, he nearly failed in his commitment to "Keep Going!" However, as the attractive young man tried to drown his sorrows in alcohol, a woman, lovely beyond measure took him aside and began flirting. She took him back to his place, but in place of seduction, they began to talk. She seemed to know of his efforts in the fire, and how he was having difficulty in his beliefs that you just can't give up, no matter how bad things had gotten. All through the night they spoke, and even when she touched a raw nerve here and there, she never wavered in her calmness. Love and beauty, freedom and passion: these, she explained, were the very things that made life worth living. And, as the sun rose, he began to believe her. She invited him on a walk, and when it ended, he found himself in a new city, far from his home, at a festival of up and coming artists that was being run by the local priestess of Ita.

Seldane is convinced that the woman was the goddess, drawing him to a new place so that he could overcome the fire and thus "Keep Going!" He has since served his goddess, devoting his energies toward restoring hope in the fallen.
