Devin Grey
Devin was until recently one of the farmers with a frontier homestead just north of Erbhard City. He had left his parents to build a farm with his new wife (Elyssa), and the two had plans of a life with a family and land of their own.
Elyssa was struck with one of the various diseases that plague those who live on the frontier. Devin tried to get the help of local priests and healers, but to no avail - his young wife wasted away, and eventually perished from the illness.
Devin sold the farmhouse they built, along with the lands, and left his memories behind. He took the name 'Grey' because he will never again work the green fields. Instead, knowing he was a strong, able man, he joined the local militia, and trained as a soldier. He proved capable at the arts of war, more than the typical new recruit. Realizing he can find a life as an explorer, he has left the militia and plans to explore these new lands on his own. Perhaps out there, in the wilderness, Devin Grey can find some explanations for the cruelty of fate and the gods.
