Hailing from the frozen north, Hrolf is the 3rd of three sons of a minor chieftain. He left his home to seek glory, riches and wenches in the wider world. An imposing figure, he was the largest of his brothers and took particular delight in demonstrating his superiority over his oldest brother (his fathers heir) in wrestling matches. Needless to say, his family shed few tears when he announced he was leaving. Hrolf refuses to wear armor into battle, feeling it would be a mark of cowardice. Headstrong and impatient, he is not one to back down from a fight.
