A long road now separates the brash young half-orc that set out from his desertic home in search of fame, fortune and women. Having arrived in the odd kingdom of Penultima, he ended up helping save it twice, the first time from an ancient spirit of chaos, and the second from a minor deity of adventurers who saw fit to enslave the souls of mortals and making them go trough an eternity of meaningless quests.
In the process, he managed to get himself married to a tough but surprisingly sweet gipsy woman who, even more surprisingly, actually liked him. He also managed to trap the soul of a former ally into a magical weapon to help her escape an evil fate, with a promise to truly free her someday.
It seems the day draws near. Zoltan has recently been dreaming about a dreadful, indefinite place where he lies mortally wounded. Something big and nasty lies nearby, and he hears the voice of Whisper (the trapped soul) begging him to fight on.
Troubled by the dreams and by an ominous "pull" towards some unknown, distant land, he left his pregnant wife tending the shop they had built to fulfill his old promise, leaving little more than a vow that he'd come back, somehow.
The first thing that someone who knew Zoltan from his early days will notice is that he lost the silly accent, having mastered the local language. His eagerness to jump into action is still there, but is now much more calculated. When Zoltan Magnus walks into a fight, he expects it to end quickly. He projects the air of being quite dangerous, something which unsettles most peaceful folk and makes many warriors instinctively get ready to draw their weapons.
