Torrith Asenguard, his name not quite as auspicious as he would wish it to be. A common life for him indeed.
Torrith's life has been sanctioned by a Dwarven settlement within a set of mountains. It was quite new compared to the others; a need for growth spurred on this settlement.
Within its earthen walls lies Torrith's domain. He frequently worked there, a master miner by trade. He was never one to stray too far from his home, though.
The settlement, known as Vri'goth, enjoyed constant trade with various semi-peaceful races within the Underdark. The very lifeblood of Vri'goth depended on imported and exported goods. Because of its security, most raids on it were quelled albeit a few lives lost in the process.
As Torrith became better at mining, his work took him deeper into the Underdark. New tunnels were opened; trade increased. Debris done away with; new extensions to Vri'goth made. Thus was his life.
Recently, though, Torrith was set upon with a conspiracy by the Drow. Somehow, they managed to force once open relationships with Vri'goth into hostily.
Whatever the cause, Vri'goth was immediately cut off supply wise. When its defenses were weakened, the Drow came for the plunder. Torrith, and only a tenth of his fellow Dwarves made it out alive.
Most of the survivors chose to flee the scene and find safety in other Dwarven strongholds. Torrith, and some twenty dwarves, boldly lept into the Underdark for revenge, having no home to go back to they'd rather die.
Being the rash one, Torrith led the way. His quick burst of leadership gave way to humility as they were abmushed by the Drow.
Somehow, he escaped, though the conditions of the other dwarves are unknown.
Alone, fearful, a torch in hand, Torrith walks the tunnels of the Underdark. Though his expertise is mining, and quite travelled when it comes to the Underdark, he has gone too far away from his home to discern his location.
