Anorith was born outside of elven lands, to a fairly traditional elven mother and a wizard father. She resided in his tower for most of her early years, giving her an early appreciation for magic. Her parent's marriage, however, was not a happy one; her father was an arrogant, bigoted, intellectual elitist who spoke of almost everyone around him with contempt, including his wife. Daraleinna returned to her home village, plus a daughter and less a husband, when Anorith was eleven. Her contact with her father thereafter was limited but not non-existent.
Saniel Nightwood, while not rigidly tradtitional, was not an ideal place for an independent and spirited young elfwoman. Nor was her home comfortable, as it became clearer with every passing year that Anorith's plans for her life did not coincide with her mother's dreams. She left Saniel at the age of forty-seven.
At that time she had a vague idea of becoming a wizard, so she paid her father a visit. Initially he was against the idea, but he was persuaded to find Anorith a school, Glym Nai'een. Anorith was vastly disappointed with the institution, finding the long hours pouring over dusty tomes drudgery at best. Finding her talents more suited to sorcery than wizardry, she began a process of self-education that lasted ten years, and earned her the disdain of most of her professors. Since then she has been travelling, doing the occasional odd job to earn food and shelter.
Anorith has flaming red hair (very unusual for an elf, and the bane of her childhood), and bright blue eyes. At 5'3" she's somewhat tall for her race. She's smart and striking, if physically weak. Anorith likes to be noticed, though there is a heavily pragmatic side to her as well, and she's proud of herself and her accomplishments. She's always looking for ways to add to her arcane skill- she recently found a book about dragons that looks very interesting indeed...
Alright, now that you've read the whole book :) I'll let you know that this character can be made available at any level. She becomes a Dragon Disciple after five or six sorcerer levels, and returns to sorcery after ten DD levels.
