M'Asia Angel

Growing up in an orphanage in a small village in the High Forest was not easy, or pleasureable most of the time. All she knows is she was left there on the doorstep when still a small child to be found by the caretakers of the orphanage. If they could be called caretakers, more like slave drivers. She was too young to have any memory of a family or where she came form. Most of the other children there were of one race or another, not mixed as M'Asia clearly is. Though from distance she looks like a human girl, though a bit petite, she still looks human. But when closer, her slightly pointed ears, and slightly Elven features cannot be hidden. So, even in an orphanage of outcasts, she was an outcast among them. But at that age, where was she to go? So she put up with the taunting and fighting, and became quite good at giving as good as she got. Often deceiving because of her slight size, M'Asia is quite strong, and exceptionally fast in speed and reflex. After several years, the others that were still there, left her alone instead of picking fights with her. She stayed in the orphanage until her early teens, in human years, though she aged much slower then the other children due to her Elven blood. She was able to rent a room fomr a local after she found work at the local tavern serving drinks and food. That was not a wonderful experience either, though it did open her eyes to yet another harsh reality. Her quick reflexs came in very handy as she dodged the swipes and paws of the men frequenting the tavern. She found herself spending more and more time out among the forest. She felt free there, and had connection with the animals she could not explain. Was it because she spent every waking hour in the forest when she was not working? And even then sometimes she did not go back to her shaby room. She liked being in the tress and felt safe. This was her life for another 5-6 six years as Humans measure time. The forest and mountains made her feel alive, and lifted her spirits above the dirty tavern and her deperessing little closet that was called her room. She would sometimes slip into a dream, she would be running through the fields, leaping rocks, the wind rushing by her, the strength and stamina she felt, she could see that she was lower to the ground, and large black paws would reach out in front of her and speed her along....at first it was frightening, was she awake or asleep, she couldn't tell. Just that it felt so real. She would have other visions or waking dreams where she would be looking up at the night sky, past the hight tops of the trees, and the bright moon showering down upon her, she could hear and smell, smell of all things, everything around her, she would be looking up at the sky and a great howl could be heard in her head, but it was as if she was roaring at the night sky... she had others as well..and more and more the feeling that she did not belong inside, in a tavern, in a house, overtook her. She could not stay here, she did not belong. The Wilds themselves called to her. She needed to explore and roam the land. She spent several more years wondering the High Forest, from the Star Mountains, to the Lost Peaks, to near Hellgate Keep. She was content to live and wonder the forests, stopping in villages when needed, cloaking herself when need be to hide her Elven ears. Some of these villages were old, and had little tolerance of a person of mixed blood. She was ok with that, she was not bitter about her treatment in some of the villages, people were easily frightened, and ignorent. It was their loss for not wanting to benefit from her company. So be it. As she had lived in the forest she could feel that she was guided more and more towards nature. She could not understand. She could on occasion actually change into the animals she had once invisioned in her mind. The dreams she was now convinced were, real. She had connected with those animals and was seeing through their eyes. But how and why she was developing these gifts was still a mystery. Yet she knows when she would be near sleep, but still awake, a voice would teach her how to do things, magical and wonderful things. She was taught how to change into her animals forms, how to heal small wounds by just speaking, and several other little "gifts". After a life of being an outcast, someone or something had accepted her. She was happy, but wanted to see more of the world. But where to go that she will be accepted and not taunted by others. Though she could more than handle herself in a fight now, she prefered not to. It was not in her heart to fight for no reason. She had remembered from her days in the tavern, hearing talk of the Moonshae Isles, off the West coast of the continent. Supposedly there wer many different races and people there, though some good and some bad, it did not matter what was in you blood. It was sort a blending area of many cultures, and adventures. She had not been to the coast yet, hadn't seen an ocean, though she knew what it was. One thing she did get form the orphanage was education. When they didn't have you working, they had you studying. Anything to keep you busy and out of their way. So M'Asia decided to go there. She made here way towards the Sword Coast to find a boat to take her to the Isles. She is excited, but nervous. She wants to meet new people, see new places, but the open ocean is not her comfy forest where she feels secure. She tries to stay positive and think that she is doing the right thing. Afterall, she will not know what path is right for her unless she walks down a few.
