Vor-Kaphael was raised by his human mother and Elf father in a small human enclave in a secluded elf society. Such mixed relationships were not common, though not unheard of. It was a time of conflict with orc and goblin factions and Vor's family sought safety and refuge throughout his youth, spending much of his teens in a city among people from a multitude of backgrounds, under the protection of a diplomat known to Vor's father. This has had the effect of drawing Vor away from his family's tradition as Ranger and he was tempted by the meaner side of life. He knows little of his parents' past life, apparently there were events his parents experienced and people they knew which they would rather not remember. It appears to casual observers they have spent many days trying to leave the past behind. Upon reaching maturity, Vor sought out the tradition of his ancestors and seeks to learn the lore denied by his father.
