Elijah's father is a high ranking druid in a remote sect that worships the goddess Ki, known simply as the Order. Elijah's mother also belongs to the sect but she is a warrior monk in the service of Ki. Naturally, Elijah was expected to enter into the goddess' service, but he could not decide which he preferred more; the mystic arts of the druids or the martial arts of the monks. So, much to his parents delight, he decided to do both. He is now at the stage of his training where he must travel the lands to obtain wisdom through contact with other races and cultures. Elijah can only return home when he believes he possesses the skills and knowledge to pass the exacting trials that the sect requires to enter the Order.
