Zabrina

Zabrina was technically considered a daughter of the sand snake barbarian tribe but she rarely felt truly accepted. Her mother, Jalenda Swiftclaw was a very strong willed warrior. It is said that Zabrina`s mother left the tribe briefly to find a mate and came back a few weeks later dragging a terrified man by his legs to her hut. Some within the village believe that Zabrina`s blood is tainted with the cowardly blood of her father. Zabrina always strove to prove them all wrong.

The Sand Snake tribe often pillaged civilized locations along the Sword Coast since they felt the people living there were weak. Eventually, the Lord of Elturel grew tired of these raids and commissioned a group of adventurers to quell the threat. The leader of this group was a sorceress named Sandra Thelie. By this time, Zabrina had grown into a decent warrior and was even taken along on raids. Sandra`s and Zabrina`s groups eventually met and battled.

The two women easily proved themselves the most skilled in their respective parties. However, Sandra`s party would win the day. Zabrina tried her best to chop down the elusive mage but Sandra`s hit and run tactics saved her. She used her allies as shields and dealt with Zabrina`s allies. Once Zabrina realized she was the only sand snake tribe memeber standing, she reluctantly retreated from the battle. When Zabrina returned to the tribe, she branded a traitor for not dying with her party. The only thing that the tribe agreed upon was that Zabrina was banished but she could return if she brought back the head of the sorceress.

Ultimately, Sandra`s party traveled along the Chiontar River and managed to kill enough barbarians to persuade the rest that a war was not in their best interest. The tribe was severely weakened but not wiped out. Zabrina didn`t care about the outcome of the war. Her only desire was to kill the woman who brought her so much shame. Despite her success, Sandra didn't recieve much praise from Lord Dhelt. He hated the way she handled the barbarians and despite her best efforts to make it up to him, their relations haven't improved.

Meanwhile Zabrina continued to train herself for another confrontation. After several years of training, Zabrina learned that Sandra was under the service of Lord Dhelt and assumed that his castle would be the best place to find her. Zabrina stormed into Elturel and forced her way into the Lord`s castle. When she made it to the throne room with several guards struggling to restrain her, Lord Dhelt allowed her to speak.

Zabrina demanded that Sandra be brought beforer her to fight her. She yelled that she could care less about the Lord or even her own life just so long as she could fight Sandra again alone. Lord Dhelt understood why this woman would want Sandra's head and knew that the barbarian could prove useful to their cause. He made a deal with her. Lord Dhelt informed Zabrina of a mercenary group known as the Midnight Vigil. If she headed towards Daggervale and aided the group, she would get her duel and perhaps her freedom. Although Zabrina still thinks this agreement was some kind of trick, she accepted since she thought a formal duel would be easiler than trying to scower all of Faerun for her and more than likely fighting a good portion of it. Besides, it would give her more training for that duel.

She was escorted to group and soon learned that they were close friends of Lord Dhelt and that there were actually more of them but the others were off looking for an elf whom was pursing the DT. The fact that the DT leader was a powerful warrior almost made Zabrina wish she could test her might against his. Still her 'duty' was to the Midnight Vigil members heading for Daggerdale.
