Mooney is a young gnome on his first adventure. A jolly fellow, he would have preferred death to taking over his parents reagent shop. One of the more powerful sorcerors, Darby Longbottom, came into the shop and took notice of young Mooney, most likely when his shoes caught fire. (A little practical joke never hurt anyone, and Mooney was itching to try some of his new-found talents.) Anyway, instead of getting angry, Darby saw the great potential for magic in Mooney's eyes. He worked with him for several months, teaching Mooney all about his newfound talents and sharing the tales of his travels. After the final lesson, Mooney decided he had enough of the shop. He bid his parents goodbye and set out to see the world while trying to develop the magic talents he felt boiling deep inside.
