Charlie "Slim" Honeycutt is what passes for a career soldier in the halfling world. His village of Tarrytown lies very close to an elven city, and in exchange for protection, the halflings serve two years in the elven army. (The joke among the elves is that they can't afford to feed the halflings for any longer than that.)
