Celdan
Celdan is a young street urchin from the mining town of Ferrom in the Pelarand. The son of the town prostitute in a hard town in a barren land, Celdan has had a rough upbringing. As a result, he's quick: quick wits, quick feet, and quick to use his fists. Celdan's violent temperment was leading him into trouble as easly as 10 years old, and he likely would have ended up the full-time inhabitant of a jail cell if not for an old drifter who took the boy under his wing.
The drifter gave his name as "Incognito" (few people in Ferrom, Celdan included, knew what the word meant, so Celdan just called him "Incog"). Incog taught the boy how to read and write, how to control himself (a work in progress), and how to fight.
At 13, aided by Incog's training, Celdan won the annual Sapling's Game -- a brutal contest meant to determine the town's candidate for Sentinal.
