Drugirn is a small stumpy somewhat unattractive gnome who any normal person would walk past without a second thought. However once engaged in conversation, the little guy can become quite warming and friendly to those who approach him. He has a peculiar curiosity for strange things, including items related to the realm of the undead.
Drugrin was raised by his gnome parents in a land far away. It was a pretty boring uneventful childhood, his parents were butchers in a small farming town, and nothing but nothing ever happened there. Indeed everyone knew each other and the town had developed a reputation of being a bit stuck up and narrow minded, largely due to its over confidence with its standing and stability.
One day Drugirn was wandering the streets late at night after a happy experience at the local pub. He was merrily singing his way back home when he was mugged, beaten up, and left for dead in the gutter.
He awoke to find a beautiful orc like lady looking over him. Was this the afterlife? was it an angel? After he came round a little more he realised he was still very much in the real world, but was still entranced with this young lady.
Days past as the orc, known as Garbag, tendered his wounds and looked after him, all the time Drugirn was falling deeper in love. The day eventually came when he was well enough to return home to his worried parents.
Garbag kindly escorted Drugirn back, talking all the way the pair seemed to be desperate to make the most of the remaining few minutes together. Eventually Drugirns town appeared in sight. Could he just leave Garbag and never see her again? He was relieved when she released her true feelings to him, and in a gush of released emotion he eagerly replied in kind. It was agreed they should stay together, and Drugirn was keen to introduce Garbag to his parents.
The meeting did not go well. His parents were furious. So stuck in their tradition they were horrified at his choice in girl friend and demanded she left at once. Drugirn was so looking forward to meeting his parents again but now he was devastated, how could he just let her go? In a moment of young gnome stubbornness he rejected his parents, stormed out, and left the town with Garbag never to return again.
They moved from town to town never being accepted, Garbag wanted to live in the wilderness but Drugirn was not ready for such a change in lifestyle. It was during these travels Drugirn started praying to his God Lathander more and more, he found he could cope with the angst of his family more easily by putting faith in his religion. Indeed he found it such a comfort, that where he found others in similar despair he would teach them the ways of Lathander to help ease their pain.
Eventually it was decided to set sail for a distant town of Trondor, maybe there the culture was different, maybe there they would be accepted.
