Born to a deformed and mentally handicapped bar-maid, Price learned from an early age how to become invisible in order to avoid the drunken wrath of tavern patrons. After his mother's death while he was still quite young, he briefly turned to crime. When he was caught by the town watch, a kind constable took pity upon him and rather than punish him, put him to work. Price became the eyes and ears of the constable and lived in a small room above the watch office. During the days he began attending the school at the local church, but at nights he roamed the streets for the constable.
