Peram Barsto is a Halfling orphan, raised by a barbarian human in the wilds of the rugged mountains, he was used as a scout because of his size. While on a raid of a hostile Orc camp, Carak, Peram’s guardian and father figure, was severely injured. Leaving the mountains, Carak took Peram with him to the port town of Tuscan, and after a short time dies. Having no place to call home Peram takes to the docks, and after hearing the sailors talk of treasures and riches to be had in foreigner lands, stows away on a ship. Not knowing where he is off to or having anywhere to call home, he cross's his figures and sets off to find his destiny.
