Paul grew up Sacramento, California where he spent the later part of his youth racing and working on cars. After graduating high school he went to college for a couple of years but felt restless and incomplete. His father, a National Guard veteran of the first gulf war had always impressed upon Paul the importance of service. This, combined with his desire to do something "different" prompted him to join the army, against the wishes of his longtime girlfriend Sue. Now a private in his first tour in Iraq, Paul is undecided about whether to make the military a career or go back to school when his time is up. Either way, he wants to save enough money for that Corvette!
