Arnimane Steele

It was said back in the days of the Shattering that the sky was stained black and that the chatter of thunder could be heard constantly for months on end. That flashes of lightening streaked across the sky, and that rain plummeted down upon the land like hails of arrows from the heavens. It is also told of a band of Tormites that trod forth with unyielding resolve going from town to town looking for all evil that hid in it's shadows. The story goes on that they traveled great distances in short amounts of time. That they only stopped long enough for food, water, and an occasional hour of sleep. It is said also that Torm himself was seen in their midst, and that favor was showed upon them in every battle. However as the battles raged on and on, they also had battles of their own, as the wails of their victims in their memories tainted their minds with sorrow. Each crusader battled his own demons, but their God gave them the resolve to continue on. They never wavered in their determination for goodness, for they knew that they must reach each destination before they were spotted by anyone or anything that would slow down their progress. They marched from town to town with the speed of Gods, and the quicker they marched, the more destruction of evil that lay in their paths. Each place found new evil, and was therefore met with swift justice and quick deaths. Justice was always served in their eyes, and they never doubted their purpose. "Death to those that oppose the weak, goodness, and the Triad". Those words could be heard over and over as they marched on to their next victims.

Each day passed like a speck of time. The Tormites ravaged the outer lands in search of all evil that did not submit to the light. The Hero's of Torm were relentless and never questioned their drive for good , and their thirst to wipe out all the abominations of darkness out of existence was foremost on their hearts and minds. As the flails of steel and divine might rang out into the heavens, the unrighteous were eliminated at the blink of an eye. Where peace and neutrality once stood, it now fell to the crusaders. Wandering souls and evil life forces had now been shown the power of the Triad, and were released into the abyss forever. Torm's power grew stronger day by day, as well as the name of the hero's. Neighboring cities sought them out at first for any problem that they could not handle. Their problems as well as evil was abolished whether it was part of the plea of help or not. Time after time victory was laid unto their hands. If whole towns or cities were burned to the ground to abolish that which was evil in their eyes, then it was done without thinking. In the end the land cringed thinking of the Heroes, for they knew what awaited them if they were called to their city for help.

The once sought out valiant men were now shunned, and evil shook at the mere mention of them and their God. Their task had been completed, and it was time for them to return home. When they arrived back in Tethyra they discovered it destroyed and abandoned. Water was consuming it and it was being claimed by the sea. The church, and its surviving members, had fled to Khaldeara and began to rebuild their faith anew. It was the decision of the church to disperse the crusaders throughout the land. The power they had obtained concerned the church, and they feared that this would be the only way to keep them from destroying what was left of the church's influence and good standing. The church also decided, to their credit, to give them a job as well, that they would in turn train others along the way to strengthen the Triad in all the places that they would now occupy. This new purpose gave the champions a passion for a continuance of glory and honor. Arnimane was sent to Rahasha, and the others to far reaches of the continent. This is where the story of Arnimane Steel begins.......
