Life is hard enough for a soldier, but being a soldier for a people that have given up violence is something else entirely - to lose one's place in the world. Though the settlement of Leofa's birth have set off for Evermeet, many of their more dedicated warriors continue to wander, restless and without peace, so focussed upon the path of controlled violence that they are not able to step off it... at least, not yet. Life for such a one is an endless series of wanderings from one small war to the next, from one tournament to the next - but now, in a year of peace and tranquility, such a one has to take whatever work he can scrounge...
