Lander was discovered when he was just a babe on the doorstep of a temple dedicated to Helm and was brought inside by the temples senior priest Reldan who would soon prove to be his father figure and mentor.Reldan was looked upon as a serious man by the other priest,but would open up when alone with Lander,he is very dedicated to his god and takes great pride in his duties,both to the temple and his duties as a father role to lander,which he himself has put him in.

Lander was to be raised in Helms ways and believes to become a cleric.Reldan taught the boy everything about the faith of helm and duties that followed. Lander was eager to learn about the faith and quickly became a part of the temples priesthood,he spend his childhood playing in the back gardens of the temples living quarters with his friend Maric,who had been his friends since anyone any of them could remember,they played many hours a day and in time became inseparable.

Lander passed the quarters of the high priest one morning and heard raised voices,the door to this room was half open and through it he could see two figures covered in dark robes talking with the high priest and Maric standing beside them,Lander didnt think much of it at the time,but later that day Maric wasnt anywhere to be found,not even at their usual playing ground,where they always met at this hour of the day to do a little sparring or teasing some of the temple priests.

Lander asked around to find out that Maric had left the temple,Lander spent many days alone after that in his room,staring out the window,thinking... when he was old enough to travel alone he would find his lost friend. When Landers training as a cleric was complete he felt the time was due to set out and search for his long lost childhood friend and spread the word of Helm.

He had a long conversation with the high priest of the temple and his mentor Rendal and they agreed that he had learned what he could here and further development for this young cleric could only be gained in travelling the outside world and that it would be a good way of further spreading Helms word. Lander was given a silver necklace ingraved with the symbol of Helm before he gathered his belongings and prepared to travel out to see the great world.
