Reviewing: Players, Servers, Realms
- What do my points start out at?
- Everyone starts out at Zero. Your points can only move up from there.
- How many times can someone vote for me?
- You can vote for someone more than once. HOWEVER, your vote is averaged with your last vote and then that average replaces your first score. So in reality there is only ever one vote per person. This prevents someone running the same group of friends week after week and receiving a perfect score each time. You can review everyone in the system in two ways. Once as a Player, and once as a Dungeon Master.
- My Overall score as player is (X), how do you get that number?
- Each time someone votes for you they give us a number between 0 and 10, for each category. We then take each of those categories and add the numbers up. So for a player there are 8 scoring areas. Say someone votes you very high, and gives you 4 perfect scores. That would be 4 x 10, or 40. We then take everyone who has ever voted for you and Sum that total number. So if two people rated you and you received a 20 each time (20 + 20) you would have a score of 40. Don't worry, you can clear your statistics and start over.
New! We also show the accumulated average for each category. That way you don't just go off of the score, but you can now look at each player's individual averages. You can also see the number of times they have been voted for. So if someone has an average of +5 in role-playing and only 1 vote, you know that doesn't mean much. However, if they have +5 and 700 votes, you know they are probably the best player on the site!
- Why does my score say x/x?
- The first number before the slash "x/" represents your overall score. This score is computed by adding up all of your scores to date. The number after the slash "/x" represents the maximum you could have possibly received to date. So if you've played in 1 game and got a score of 20, it would read 20/60. 60 because you could've scored a maximum of 60 points (as a player, not a DM).
- Why am I being judged?
- It's the only way for everyone to find games they want to play in. It's also one of the best ways to improve yourself as a player and as a Dungeon Master. Again, you can always clear your scores and start over.
- As a player, what am I being judged on?
- You are being reviewed on the following items, note the score possibilities in the parenthesis. Keep in mind that the negatives of each of these are assuming you weren't in character doing these things:
- Roleplay Skill (0 to 10). How well do you stay in character? Thats really what this boils down to. If you don't care if you stay in character and you don't care if others stay in character, then don't sweat it. Search for others that have a low score in this area.
- Disrupted Play (0 to 10). How much did you disrupt everyone else's enjoyment of the game? How much did you aid it?
- Looting (0 to 10). Did you share the loot, or horde it and run?
- Problem Solving (0 to 10). Did you help solve the problems, or hinder?
- Leadership (0 to 10). Were you the party leader and do a good job? Or did you block the parties decisions at every turn?
- Would you play with this player again? (0 to 10). This is one of those you'll want to watch closely. If you are in the negatives, people might start avoiding you.
- Player was late to game? (no score). This is annoying to everyone involved. If you say you are going to be there, be there!
- Excessive Profanity? (no score). Swearing has no place in this game.
- Best Player In the Game (no score). Someone thought you were the best one there. Good job!
Total: 0 to +60. Thats the least and most someone can score you. The "No Score" items represent items that are cumulative, but not averaged. Meaning if 2 people say you are late, then you have a score of 2 in lateness.
- As a Dungeon Master, what am I being judged on?
- You are being reviewed on the following items, note the score possibilities in the parenthesis. Note that when a player reviews a DM, he's not just reviewing one DM, but all DM's involved in that game.:
- Game Design (0 to 10). How good was the setting you played in?
- Organizing Play (0 to 10). How well did you get the game going and keep it going?
- Objectivity (0 to 10). Did you show favoritism?
- Non-Player Characters (NPC's) (0 to 10). How good were the NPC's?
- Fun (0 to 10). How fun was the game?
- Treasure (0 to 10). Too much, or too little treasure?
- Challenge? (0 to 10). How challenging was this adventure?
- Stability (0 to 10). How stable was the server and scripts?
- Plot (0 to 10). How good was your plot line?
- Overall (0 to 10). What did you think of the game overall?
- Game was late to start (no score). Did you start late? This annoys everyone when it happens.
- Used excessive profanity (no score). There is no place for profanity in these games.
Total: 0 to +100. Thats the least and most someone can score you. The "No Score" items represent items that are cumulative, but not averaged. Meaning if 2 people say you are late, then you have a score of 2 in lateness.
Finally, you will also be rated on how far to either end of the Role-play/hack & slash spectrum you were on. This doesn't affect your point total, however, it does allow people to find you based on the type of game they enjoy. Maybe someone enjoys more roleplaying... or more hack and slash.
- What is my server being judged on?
- your server is being judged on the following items, note the score possibilities in the parenthesis:
- Game Design (0 to 10). How good was the setting you played in?
- Non-Player Characters (NPC's) (0 to 10). How good were the NPC's?
- Fun (0 to 10). How fun was the game?
- Treasure (0 to 10). Too much, or too little treasure?
- Challenge? (0 to 10). How challenging was this adventure?
- Stability (0 to 10). How stable was the server and scripts?
- Number of Quests (0 to 10). How easy was it to find a quest?
- Quest Quality (0 to 10). How original was the quest?
Total: 0 to +80. Thats the least and most someone can score you.
Finally, you will also be rated on how far to either end of the Role-play/hack & slash spectrum you were on. This doesn't affect your server's point total, however, it does allow people to find your server based on the type of game they enjoy. Maybe someone enjoys more roleplaying... or more hack and slash.
- What is my Realm being judged on?
- See "What is my server being judged on?" in the question above this one.
- Is my character being judged?
- No, it is not. Only the player behind each character is being judged.
