Felrazor's Details [Statistics Help]

DM Title: Exemplary Master Story Teller of the the Temple

Player Experience Points: 4545

I started DMing and playing in PnP RPGs in '81 (beginning with 1st Edition D&D). I prefer RPing, telling a story with a like-minded group, but I also enjoy a little power gaming, and hack & slash every once in a while. Both have their place in NwN, more so than in PnP I think. One of the great advantages of NwN, over PnP (I'm gonna be lynched for saying this, lol) is that you have the ability to never break character, and just participate in the story, there are no dice rolls, looking in books, breaking for coffee (okay, one of my groups actually took a break for coffee recently, but that is like breathing right?), etc... It can be like participating in a movie, good stuff.

For many years I did not participate in RP gaming (even CRPGs). In fact, I played very few games at all during my 20s. However, in the last few years, now that I have gotten older, (and hopefully, a little wiser) I have picked up gaming again as a hobby. It is often difficult to work that into my schedule, which by preference is kept pretty full. I heard about NWC soon after I got NwN, but at the time did not really see anything that special about it, other than thinking it was a pretty good idea.

In November, I went ahead and joined, my friends had all grown a little tired of the game, and it had become difficult to schedule. I think we played about 30 or so mods, and frankly we probably hit all the ones worth playing. Something was missing, and now I know what it was.

NWC has a great treasure in its DMs, providing that much needed spontaneity and responsiveness to the game.

Those members that schedule games regularly are also to be treasured. It is rare that I don't find an interesting game in a time slot that I can make, each week. When you only have 5 or 6 hours in a week available to play, that means alot.

I just want to thank every member of this community, and thank those who started the site, and who maintain it. You make my hobby full of fun and enjoyment, and that is what it is all about.
