As a player I prefer the role-play type of game. To show my preferences I will state that Witch's Wake is the best module I've played so far - zero XP for random killing is a great incentive to role-play.
I began playing RPGs when DnD was just that (before it was known as "Basic" DnD). Stopped for many years and then was hit by Baldur's Gate etc.
I have just begun playing online, although I have had NWN for six months or so. As a result I am unfamiliar with many of the tricks of the trade. Time will cure this.
At the moment I have no desire to be a DM - mainly because I need to learn to be an online player first.
