Hello!
I haven't been playing pen and paper D&D as long as many of the folks here; I started playing about five years ago with AD&D 2e, and I've been DMing almost as long as I've been playing. Due to the lack of players around where I live, I also have experience with playing D&D on RPG programs online (have used ones such as WebRPG, OpenRPG, a lesser-known program called DnD Online, and an even lesser known one called Online PnP World).
I picked up NWN almost right after it came out, but after playing the heck out of it I uninstalled it and was away from it for about four months. The discovery of NWC, consequently, has brought about a revival in my NWN playing. I'm also now making a second foray into DMing an NWN game, the first one being mostly unsuccessful. I do face problems mainly having to do with not having my own mods, but that should change once I get a smidgeon more free time on my hands.
As for my preferences... I've always favored roleplay over hack and slash, not that I don't appreciate the quality of an well-done combat scene. There are differences between traditional PnP and NWN which, despite all the great scripting work done by countless people, can never really be addressed. But that's okay, because if I wanted PnP I would be on one of those online PnP programs. For me, NWN expedites the process of combat greatly (something that always took a very long time in my games), but that doesn't mean more should be added. It simply allows more time to be spent focusing on roleplaying and story elements.
I applaud you if you sat down and read this whole profile. I'm just a newcomer with some ideas anyhow.
P.S.: If you review me, please leave some comments so I know what I did well and what I can improve. Seeing a blank review with only numbers annoys the heck out of me, even if said numbers are good.
