Trent's Details [Statistics Help]
DM Level: 3rd, 91.32%
DM Title: Exemplary Understudy of the Second Circle

Player Experience Points: 3350

I've been involved in the NWN community for the better part of five years now, and have filled the shoes of player, DM and Builder. I have been a part of many guilds, and even helped found one in particular, The Fellowship of the Dragonsong. I am currently a member of the Sojourney Guild, where I play, DM and Build. In addition to my work on the Sojourney: The Bloodstone Lands persistent world, I also have built and DM the Queen Of Ice campaign module, set in the Icewind Dale, for the Sojourney Guild. My current project is a NWN2 PW for the Sojourney guild, though at this stage I'm not inclined to give away too many details.

As a player, I like to roleplay a lot. I'm big on character interaction and development. I like to think my characters grow in personality and maturity as well as their experience levels. My favorite class is Rogue, and many of my favorite characters have at least a level or two of that class. I have a long history of DnD in the pen and paper world prior to becoming involved in NWN, and the closer I can get to a PnP experience in the NWN client, the happier I am.

As a DM, I strive toward the same goal as I do when I play - to emulate the PnP DnD experience as much as possible within the NWN client. I like developing NPCs that the players will get to know and hopefully develop SOME sort of emotional attachment to - be it love or hate. I like to create multi-layered plots and storylines, with plenty of twists to keep people on their toes. I try to encourage as much "outside the engine" thinking as possible, and don't want my players to feel like just because they can't make their onscreen avatar do something, they can't do it. I'm also very big on letting the players dictate the pace of the action in my games. If they want to sit around town and RP for a whole session, I'm fine with that. I try not to pull them around by their noses just to get them through whatever storyline I've planned. That's not to say that the rest of the world stands still while the heroes enjoy a good ale, though. I am not a proponent of PvP... I have yet to see it lead to anything positive in any game I've been involved in, and therefore am leery of some character/ alignment types. That's not to say I won't allow "evils" or "evil subraces," but I do scrutinize them rather carefully before allowing a character into my game.

As a builder, I have two goals. They are: 1. To make a player think about their surroundings and how to use them to their advantage and... 2. To make a player say "Wow! I had no idea you could DO that in the toolset!" I really enjoy building, particularly the work I've done on the Queen Of Ice campaign mod for Sojourney, and the awesome Bloodstone Lands PW there. Still working on scripting, but thanks to Lilac Soul and the awesome script generator, I can make just about anything I need to have now.

Anyway, that's it for me. Look forward to meeting you in game!
