Hmm. Ok, I'm in my mid-thirties, located in the Midwestern US and have been gaming a looooong time, although I have been playing DnD for a suprisingly small chunk of it. And as a result I am still learning about the Forgotten Realms setting. *Hides head in shame*
Anyway, as far as what sort of characters I like to play, that honestly depends on the needs of the campaign and my whims, because I prefer to make up a new character for each campaign.
I also I put an emphasis on roleplaying as a member of a troupe. It is in my best interest for the other players and the DM (if there is one) to enjoy the game we are playing. So I find that by letting my characters change and grow in ways that I might have not anticipated depending on the interactions with others will give the games I play in a vibrancy that I enjoy a great deal.
I don't DM online, because I spend enough time on the computer as it is. (But I have lent an assist on more than one occasion with NPCs. As of yet I haven't done any heavy lifting and thus am quite comfortable with still saying I don't DM online.)
